Abstract
Des commutateurs daccès de dimensions modérées sont interconnectés par lintermédiaire de commutateurs centraux de grandes dimensions pour former un système de commutation à grande échelle. Les commutateurs centraux sont configurés comme des commutateurs latents qui sadaptent facilement à de grandes dimensions. Chaque commutateur daccès comporte des connexions asymétriques aux côtés entrée et aux côtés sortie des commutateurs centraux de manière que les trajets depuis un commutateur accès dorigine vers un commutateur daccès de destination par lintermédiaire des commutateurs centraux soient soumis à des temps de communication échelonnés permettant à un contrôleur daccès de tout commutateur daccès de sélectionner un trajet disponible à temps de communication minimum pour un flux donné. Grâce à des commutateurs daccès comptant 128 ports doubles chacun et des commutateurs centraux comptant 4 096 ports doubles chacun, un système de commutation de 524 288 ports doubles est réalisé. Avec une capacité de port de 10 gigabits/seconde, la capacité daccès dépasse cinq pétabits par seconde et la majeure partie du trafic connaît un délai de commutation inférieur à deux microsecondes.
