Abstract

The innovation consists in offering a device for players of curling, which is connected to a universal tip affixed to the end of a tubular handle, all of which is usually called a curling stick. This connecting device allows the rock to be thrown by its handle on a curling sheet. Thanks to the connector, inserted with little play on the handle of the curling rock, the rock is pushed on its throwing axis, receiving the appropriate rotation when released. The push of the curling stick on the handle of the rock while the player is in the throw axis behind the stone, translates to a forward axial push on the inner part before the curve of the rock handle, thanks to the characteristics of the connecting device between the rock and the tip of the stick.

Le curling est ce sport où deux équipes adverses font glisser des pierres de granite d'environ 20 kilogrammes vers une cible sur une piste de 36 mètres recouverte de gouttelettes glacées.
La marche et la poussée de la pierre au moyen d'un bâton de curling, pour les joueurs ne pouvant exécuter le lancer conventionnelle ou préférant ce type de lancer, se fait à
partir des blocs de départ. Les deux pieds sont alors chaussés de souliers à semelles antidérapantes.
La marche plus ou moins rapide du joueur et le lâcher de la pierre permet d'ajuster la force la direction et la courbe du tir. L'objectif consiste à avoir une ou des pierres le plus près possible du centre d'une cible de cercles concentriques.
Au lâcher une rotation horaire ou inverse selon la commande du capitaine est imprimée à la pierre.
Cette rotation qui la fait courber dans son parcours constitue l'essence même du jeu de curling.
Le fait de brosser devant la pierre réchauffe et lisse les têtes des gouttelettes glacées, ce qui ralentit sa décélération et renforce sa trajectoire permettant de l'amener le plus précisément possible à

HISTORIQUE ET PROBLÉMATIQUE
Pour permettre aux personnes atteintes d'une incapacité temporaire ou permanente ou toute autre personne qui désire utiliser ou pratiquer le bâton curling, les fabricants d'équipements ont imaginés différents bâtons tube munis de différents dispositifs qui s'insèrent ou se superposent à la partie fusiforme des poignées des pierres de curling pour les faire glisser.
Ces bâtons permettent le lancer de la pierre avec une rotation appropriée de celle-ci vers la cible.
Bien que tous les modèles de bâtons de curling offerts puissent être utiles à
ce genre de lancer, chacun présente des imperfections la principale étant la précision et le contrôle dans la prise tout en conservant le bâton dans l'axe du lancer.

Les poignées en matière plastique des pierres sont obtenues par moulage. Les différents modèles et les dimensions de la partie fusiforme de la poignée ne sont pas toujours identiques les unes par rapport aux autres, il est alors difficile d'y ajuster parfaitement un dispositif universel de lancer.
On retrouve donc un jeu dans ces dispositifs pour qu'ils s'adaptent sur l'ensemble des modèles de poignées et pour un retrait sans résistance de la poignée lors du lâcher de la pierre, considérant qu'à
ce moment la poignée peut-être dans un certain angle pour initier la rotation de la pierre.
Que le dispositif soit prévu pour pousser sur le bout arrière de la poignée tel qu'avec le modèle The Extender ou par son autre extrémité intérieure avant dans le cas d'un modèle à manchon tel que The Sure-Shot le résultat du lancer risque d'être plus ou moins précis puisque la prise est plus ou moins bien ajustée sur la poignée.
Certains dispositifs offrent des avantages mais au détriment de certains autres ce qui fait qu'ils ont des degrés divers de popularité. Le contrôle du lancer étant de très grande importance, il y aurait un avantage certain à obtenir et à sentir une prise plus précise du dispositif sur la poignée de la pierre.
Comme il est improbable que toutes les pierres soient équipées dans un proche avenir d'une poignée standardisée ou officielle permettant l'utilisation d'un dispositif parfaitement ajusté, on doit envisager un dispositif amélioré avec un minimum de jeu s'adaptant sur tous les modèles actuels de poignées, tenant compte d'un retrait sans résistance du dispositif de la poignée de la pierre lors du lâcher et de la possibilité d'un arrêt de celle-ci durant son lancer.
De plus l'indexation angulaire de la poignée de la pierre à partir des dispositifs existant fait en sorte que le bâton sort obligatoirement et malencontreusement de l'axe de tir.
L'utilisation d'un pivot 3 axes jouant le rôle du poignet du joueur dans le lancer conventionnel, connecté sur le dispositif et passant par l'axe de rotation et centre de gravité de la pierre pourrait corriger ce défaut.
Des joueurs aimeraient utiliser un bâton de leur choix adaptable facilement au dispositif. Certains trouveraient avantageux de pouvoir fixer le dispositif à l'autre bout du manche de leur brosse de curling. Une fabrication mécanique en pièces détachées et assemblées plutôt que par moulage aurait l'avantage d'être modifiable ou ajustable. Au profit des utilisateurs, ces observations se doivent d'être regardées. TITLE OF THE INVENTION

DOSSIER D'ANTÉRIORITÉ
Une recherche menée, plus précisément dans la base de données des brevets de l'OPIC, a permis de constater que plusieurs demandes de brevet ont été déposées dans ce domaine et retrouvées aux numéros : 2165915, 2176849, 2249692, 2392691, 2461382, 2498860, 2652933 et notre 2774282 en voie d'abandon. Toutes ces demandes de brevet sont mortes ou périmées ou en voie de l'être.
Il nous a été donné de constater que peu d'idées novatrices sont apportées pour améliorer le lancer à l'aide d'un bâton de curling, et pour solutionner efficacement les points faibles des dispositifs existant soulignés ci-avant à HISTORIQUE ET PROBLÉMATIQUE.
SOMMAIRE DE L'INVENTION
Un dispositif connecteur s'insérant sur tous types usuels de poignée de pierre de curling a été
conçu, éliminant un maximum de jeu indésirable et permettant de diriger et de larguer avec plus de précision la pierre sur l'axe demandé. Ce dispositif qu'on appellera l'Uconnecteur à cause de sa forme en U renversé sert à réunir un embout à joint et tenon universels (notre brevet en instance 2 746 925) avec une poigné de pierre de curling.
Entourant la prise fusiforme de la poignée et reposant sur le bas de chaque côté descendant jusque sur la base circulaire de la poignée, l'Uconnecteur lorsqu'introduit devient autocentré sur la partie avant de la poignée. Deux tiges transversales situées entre les côtés, assure l'espacement, le centrage, la poussée et l'élimination d'un maximum de jeu dans la prise. La rotation de l'Uconnecteur introduit sur la poignée est ainsi bloquée.
L'embout pivot universel raccordé sur le dessus du dispositif Uconnecteur dans son axe central y de rotation étant dans le même axe y que celui de la pierre, permet de réunir en un point les 3 axes x y et z, permettant la rotation de la pierre par la rotation du bâton, celui-ci demeurant toujours bien aligné dans l'axe x du lancer. Au lâcher de la pierre que la poignée soit dans l'axe x ou à angle selon la méthode de lancer utilisée, le retrait de l'Uconnecteur de la poignée de la pierre se fait sans aucune restriction aidé par un dégagement angulaire sur la partie arrière au bas des côtés.
L'Uconnecteur du bâton de curling peut servir à glisser la pierre sur son aire de départ, l'arrêter dans sa poussée et même éventuellement être utilisé à la manière d'un modèle de type manchon. 2 =
FILE OF ANTERIORITY
Research carried out, more specifically in the patent database of CIPO, has allowed note that several patent applications have been filed in this area and found at numbers: 2165915, 2176849, 2249692, 2392691, 2461382, 2498860, 2652933 and our 2774282 in the process of abandonment. All these patent applications are dead or out of date or way of being.
We have been shown that few innovative ideas are brought to improve casting using a curling stick, and to effectively solve the points weak devices existing underlined above at HISTORY AND ISSUE.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
A connector device that fits on all common types of stone handle curling has been designed, eliminating a maximum of unwanted play and allowing for directing and drop with more accurately the stone on the requested axis. This device that we will call the connector because of its inverted U shape is used to join a universal joint and tenon (our patent pending 2,746,925) with a handful of curling stone.
Surrounding the fusiform grip of the handle and resting on the bottom of each downward side on the circular base of the handle, the Uconnector when introduced becomes self-centered on the part before the handle. Two cross rods located between the sides, ensures spacing, centering, pushing and eliminating a maximum of play in the grip. The rotation of the Uconnector introduced on the handle is thus blocked.
The universal swivel tip connected to the top of the device The connector in its central axis of rotation being in the same axis y as that of the stone, allows to reunite in one point the 3 axes xy and z, allowing the rotation of the stone by the rotation of the stick, that always staying well aligned in the x-axis of the throw. When letting go of the stone the handle is in the x-axis or angle according to the casting method used, removing the Uconnector from the handle stone is made without no restriction aided by angular clearance on the back part at bottom of the sides.
The Uconnector of the curling stick can be used to slip the stone on its area starting, stop it in its thrust and even possibly be used in the manner of a model sleeve type.

4 DESCRIPTION DÉTAILLÉE DE L'INVENTION
La Figure # 1 donne une vue en perspective d'un dispositif Uconnecteur de pièces assemblées, à
être raccordé sur un embout universel fixé au bout d'un bâton tube et de sa prise sur la poignée d'une pierre de curling Notre prototype Uconnecteur sans être restrictif est composé d'une plaque (1) d'un polymère de 60 mm de longueur par 31.5 mm de largeur et de 10 mm d'épaisseur. Sur le dessus de la plaque (1) une cavité concave (2) centrée de 28,5 mm par 10 mm de profondeur est pratiquée pour recevoir le bout sphérique d'un embout universel.
Deux trous de 2,3 mm de diamètre (3) sont percés sur l'axe longitudinale à 6 mm des bouts soit à
48 mm de distance l'un de l'autre dans le but d'y fixer au-dessus de la plaque (1), l'arbre axe de 6.35 mm de diamètre (4) d'un embout universel au moyen de vis à métal à tête fraisée no 4.
Deux trous de 3.2 mm de diamètre (5) sont percés de part en part à 5 mm du dessus de la plaque (1), et à 10 mm des bouts soit 40 mm de distance l'un de l'autre, pour y fixer une plaquette (6) de chaque côté à l'aide de rivets.
Ces deux plaquettes (6) de 3 mm d'épaisseur ont 60 mm au haut par 67.5 mm de hauteur. Elles sont découpées à 86 mm de rayon à l'arrière partant à 28 mm de la base et à 86 mm de rayon à
l'avant partant à 15 mm de la base.
Une découpe tangentielle suivant un rayon de 27 mm est effectuée entre le côté
avant et la base, et une découpe tangentielle avec la base suivant un rayon de 37 mm mais à 22 mm du côté arrière est effectué du côté arrière des plaquettes (6).
Deux trous de 3.2 mm (7) sont percés à travers les deux plaquettes (6) un ayant son centre à 12 mm de la base et à 12 mm du côté avant et l'autre ayant son centre à 25 mm de la base et à 8 mm du côté arrière. Ces trous servent à y fixer les 2 tiges d'espacement (8) de 6.35 mm de diamètre par 31.5 mm de long. Ces tiges (8) sont percées à chaque bout d'un trou de 3.2 mm de diamètre par 10 mm de profond pour fixation au moyen de rivets.
Deux trous de 3.2 mm de diamètre (9) sont percés à 5 mm du dessus sur chacune des plaquettes (6) à 10 mm du bout arrière et à 40 mm de distance pour leur rivetage à la plaque (1).
Une ouverture circulaire (10) de 45 mm de diamètre est pratiquée dans les deux plaquettes (6) ayant son centre à 30 mm de la base sur l'axe vertical centrale. 4 DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

THE ACHIEVEMENTS OF THE INVENTION, ABOUT WHICH A RIGHT
EXCLUSIVE PROPERTY OR PRIVILEGE IS REPRESENTED, ARE DEFINED
AS IT FOLLOWS:

1 A connector device between a handful of curling stone and the tree axis of a mouthpiece universal pivot, comprising an inverted U-shaped sheath slipping on the said handle, whose sides of said sheath resting on the base of said handle are crossed by spacing rods passing under the fusiform portion of said handle, and possessing on the top of said sheath a cavity for receiving said pivot end and fasteners to receive said shaft axis.

2 A connector device between a handful of curling stone and the tree axis of a mouthpiece Pivot according to claim 1 in that said sheath is made of parts assemblies.

3 A connector device between a handful of curling stone and the tree axis of a mouthpiece pivot according to claim 1 in that said sheath is molded from a polymer.

4 A connector device between a handful of curling stone and the tree axis of a mouthpiece Pivot according to claim 1 in that said sheath is molded from a metal.

A connector device between a curling stone handle and the axle shaft a mouthpiece pivot according to any one of claims 1 and 2 in that said sheath is made of polymer parts.
