Abstract
A breast ornament is provided which comprises a flexible plastic member having a front face which has a decorative design applied to it and an adhesive back face coated, and an adhesive backing sheet removably attached to the adhesive back face, whereby the breast ornament may be removably attached to a breast after removal of the adhesive backing sheet, and wherein the flexible plastic member is substantially C-shaped or reverse C-shaped such that upon attachment of the breast ornament to a breast the nipple is partially encircled by the breast ornament.
Description
TECHNICAL FIELD
This invention relates to a body ornament, in particular a breast ornament, to be stuck on the skin .
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
For centuries women have enjoyed going topless on nude beaches, enjoying the feeling of the warm sun and cool water on their breasts, areola, nipples and on their backs, but at the same time women like to also have some fashion appeal. They would like to have the sensation of bare skin, and at the same time have a fashionable ornament of the breast. In addition, women would enjoy wearing a breast ornament that exposes the nipple for sexual relations and not have to take it off or remove it when taking a shower.
It is known to adorn the skin with body jewelry by fixing jewels or other ornamentation to the skin with adhesive.
United States Patent 5,233,845 to D'Andrade discloses a decorative three-dimensional sculptured jewelry which is worn directly on a person's body via an adhesive layer. The ornamental design is created from a non-conductive, plastic material. The material is sufficiently lightweight for the item of jewelry to be affixed by adhesive and therefore worn directly on the skin as opposed to heavier items which need to be secured to clothing via a pin or clasp. The three-dimensional jewelry described in US 5,233,845 is, however, not sufficiently flexible to be comfortably worn on very curved areas, on sensitive parts of the body or parts where the skin is subject to stretching and movement.
The prior art does not disclose a body ornament suitable for applying to the breast. In particular, the prior art fails to recognize or address the problem of sticking ornamentation on or over the nipple which may cause discomfort due to the enhanced sensitivity of this tissue and the propensity of the nipple to change shape and size in response to changes in temperature or sexual arousal.
It is therefore an object of the present invention to design a removable breast ornament which can be worn in comfort for extended periods without chafing or falling off and without the need to remove it for swimming, bathing, showering or sexual relations.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
The invention provides a breast ornament comprising a flexible plastic member having a front face which has a decorative design applied to it and an adhesive back face, and an adhesive backing sheet removably attached to the adhesive back face, whereby the breast ornament may be removably attached to a breast after removal of the adhesive backing sheet, and wherein the flexible plastic member is substantially C-shaped or reverse C-shaped such that upon attachment of the breast ornament to a breast the nipple is partially encircled by the breast ornament.
The invention further provides a method of applying a substantially C-shaped or reverse C-shaped breast ornament comprising a flexible plastic member having a front face which has a decorative design applied to it and an adhesive back face, and an adhesive backing sheet removably attached to the waterproof adhesive, the method comprising the steps of:
i) peeling the adhesive backing sheet away from the adhesive back face;
and ii) sticking the breast ornament to a breast by way of the adhesive back face such that the breast ornament partially encircles the nipple.
The plastic member is sufficiently thin and flexible to adapt to the curved surface of the breast when laid thereon, allowing the adhesive coating of the back face to make good and continuous contact with the skin, ensuring effective and lasting adherence of the ornament.
The back face of the flexible plastic member is adhesive to secure the breast ornament in place following application to a breast. The member may be formed from material which is inherently adhesive or the back face of the member may be coated with a waterproof adhesive. Preferably the waterproof adhesive is hypoallergenic.
The plastic member is substantially C-shaped or reverse C-shaped (i.e.
the mirror image of the letter C), by which is meant a shape that curves around the nipple without completely encircling it. References to "C-shaped" herein shall be take to also include reverse C-shaped except where the context dictates otherwise. The precise form of the C is not critical. For example it is not necessary that the C-shape is a perfect arc of a circle, although it could be.
The C-shape leaves the nipple and immediately surrounding area, including the areola, uncovered so that the sensitive skin of the nipple is not irritated, and permitting the tissue of the nipple are to expand and contract, e.g. in response to temperature or sensual triggers, without chafing against the edges of breast ornament. The fact that the nipple area is exposed means that it is not necessary to remove the ornament during sexual relations. The C-shape, which partially encircles the nipple, is better than a closed circle (0-shape), which completely encircles the nipple, because it give greater flexibility to adapt to the shape of the breast upon application.
The C-shaped member is generally no more than 3cm wide at any point, allowing it to lay flat on the curved breast and enabling the ornament to stay in place. Relatively narrow decorative projections, such as swirls, may project from the general C shape as shown in the accompanying Figures.
Generally, the user will be provided with a pair of breast ornaments, one C-shaped and the other reverse C-shaped, for application to each of the left and right breasts, in order to provide an aesthetic symmetry.
The plastic member includes a decorative design formed of an arrangement of ornaments such as jewels or beads fixed to the front face of the plastic member. The spacing of the individual ornaments does allows the breast ornament to retain its flexibility, unlike a solid ornament. It is very convenient for the user to apply a breast ornament comprising a prefabricated design, as opposed to fixing the stones him/herself which is very time consuming and requires some artistic skill.
The back face of the flexible plastic member is adhesive or is coated with a waterproof adhesive so that the breast ornament can be worn while swimming, bathing or in the shower. The adhesive coating may be thicker on the area of the member proximal to the inner edge of the C, i.e. the part of the member closer to the nipple in order to promote adhesion and reduce the likelihood of the ornament coming unstuck.
The plastic member may be coloured or painted for artistic effect or if it is desired to hide the skin below from view.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF AN EMBODIMENT
When referring to the drawings, like reference numerals designate identical or corresponding features throughout the several views.
Embodiments of a waterproof, removable breast ornament are shown generally at 40. Referring to Figures 1, 2 ,3 ,4 and 5 for illustration, the preferred embodiment of a waterproof, removable breast ornament (40) being a flexible plastic member (11) having a front face (1) and a back face (2), the front face (1) having a decorative design (3) applied to it and the back face (2) coated with a waterproof adhesive (4), and an adhesive backing sheet (5) removeably attached to a waterproof adhesive (4), whereby the breast ornament (40) may be removable attached to a breast (6 )after removal of the adhesive backing (5) sheet, and wherein the flexible plastic member (11) is substantially C¨shaped or reverse C (7)¨shaped such that upon attachment of the breast ornament (40) to a breast (6) the nipple (8) is partially encircled by the breast ornament as shown in Figure 4. As well, Figure 4 showing the plastic member (11) is substantially C-shaped or reverse C shaped (7) by which is meant a shape that curves around the nipple without completely encircling it. Referring to Figure 4, the C shaped (7) leaves the nipple (8) and immediately surrounding area (9) uncovered so that the sensitive skin on the nipple is not irritated and permitting the tissue of the nipple are to expand and contract, e.g. in response to temperature or sensual triggers, without chafing against the edges of breast ornament (40). The exposed nipple area (9) allows the user the option not to remove it during sexual relations. Figure 4 shows the user wearing a pair of breast ornaments (40), one C shaped and the other reverse C- shaped (7). The C-shaped (7), which partially encircles the nipple, is better than a closed circle (0 shaped), which completely encircles the nipple, because if gives greater flexibility to adapt to the shape of the breast upon application. Generally, the user will be provided with a pair of breast ornaments, one C- shaped (7) and the other reverse C- shaped (7) for application to each of the left and right breasts (6), see figure 4. Figure 5 also shows the plastic member (11) being sufficiently thin and flexible to adapt to the curved surface of the breast (10) when laid theron, allowing the adhesive coating (4) of the back face (2) to make good continuous contact with the skin , ensuring effective and lasting adherence of the ornament (40). Referring to Figure 6, the C- Shaped member (7) is generally no more than 3 cm wide at any point (13), allowing it to lay flat on the curved breast and enabling the ornament to stay in place. Relatively narrow decorative projection such as swirls (14) , may project from the general C shaped (7) as shown in Figure 6. This serves as a decorative and to assist in securing the plastic member.
Referring to Figure 5, in certain embodiments the adhesive maybe thicker (16) on the area of the member (11) proximal to the inner edge of the C, i.e. the part of the member (11) closer to the nipple (8) and nipple area (9) in order to promote adhesion and reduce the likelihood of the ornament coming unstuck.
Referring to Figure 6, in certain embodiments, the plastic member includes a decorative design (3) formed of an arrangement of ornaments such as jewels or beads (15) fixed to the front face (1) of the plastic member (11). The spacing of the individual ornaments (15) does allow the breast ornament (40) to retain its flexibility, unlike a solid ornament. In certain embodiments, the plastic member (11) may be colored, or glitter (3) for artistic affect or if it is desired to eliminate the skin below from view. In certain embodiments, the decorative design (3) is a printed design.
Figure 7 shows the back face (2) of the flexible plastic member (11), in certain embodiments it may be coated with a waterproof adhesive (4) so that the breast ornament (40) can be worn while swimming, bathing or in the shower. Figure 7 shows where the adhesive maybe thicker (16) on the area of the member proximal to the inner edge of the C shaped (7) , the part of the member closer to the nipple in order to promote adhesion and reduce the likelihood of the ornament coming unstuck.

Peeling the adhesive backing sheet (5) away from the waterproof adhesive coating (4), see Figure 8; and sticking the breast ornament (40) to a breast (see Figure 9) by way of the waterproof adhesive coating (4) such that the breast ornament partially encircles the nipple and making sure the ornament does not touch the nipple
This invention relates to a body ornament, in particular a breast ornament, to be stuck on the skin .
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
For centuries women have enjoyed going topless on nude beaches, enjoying the feeling of the warm sun and cool water on their breasts, areola, nipples and on their backs, but at the same time women like to also have some fashion appeal. They would like to have the sensation of bare skin, and at the same time have a fashionable ornament of the breast. In addition, women would enjoy wearing a breast ornament that exposes the nipple for sexual relations and not have to take it off or remove it when taking a shower.
It is known to adorn the skin with body jewelry by fixing jewels or other ornamentation to the skin with adhesive.
United States Patent 5,233,845 to D'Andrade discloses a decorative three-dimensional sculptured jewelry which is worn directly on a person's body via an adhesive layer. The ornamental design is created from a non-conductive, plastic material. The material is sufficiently lightweight for the item of jewelry to be affixed by adhesive and therefore worn directly on the skin as opposed to heavier items which need to be secured to clothing via a pin or clasp. It is therefore an object of the present invention to design a removable breast ornament which can be worn in comfort for extended periods without chafing or falling off and without the need to remove it for swimming, bathing, showering or sexual relations.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
The invention provides a breast ornament comprising a flexible plastic member having a front face which has a decorative design applied to it and an adhesive back face, and an adhesive backing sheet removably attached to the adhesive back face, whereby the breast ornament may be removably attached to a breast after removal of the adhesive backing sheet, and wherein the flexible plastic member is substantially C-shaped or reverse C-shaped such that upon attachment of the breast ornament to a breast the nipple is partially encircled by the breast ornament.
The invention further provides a method of applying a substantially C-shaped or reverse C-shaped breast ornament comprising a flexible plastic member having a front face which has a decorative design applied to it and an adhesive back face, and an adhesive backing sheet removably attached to the waterproof adhesive, the method comprising the steps of:
i) peeling the adhesive backing sheet away from the adhesive back face;
and ii) sticking the breast ornament to a breast by way of the adhesive back face such that the breast ornament partially encircles the nipple.
The plastic member is sufficiently thin and flexible to adapt to the curved surface of the breast when laid thereon, allowing the adhesive coating of the back face to make good and continuous contact with the skin, ensuring effective and lasting adherence of the ornament.

Claims (9)
1. A breast ornament comprising a flexible plastic member having a front face which has a decorative design applied to it and an adhesive back face, and an adhesive backing sheet removably attached to the adhesive back face, whereby the breast ornament may be removably attached to a breast after removal of the adhesive backing sheet, and wherein the flexible plastic member is substantially C-shaped or reverse C-shaped such that upon attachment of the breast ornament to a breast the nipple is partially encircled by the breast ornament.
2. The breast ornament of claim 1, wherein the decorative design comprises jewels or other raised ornamentation.
3. The breast ornament of claim 1, wherein the decorative design is a printed design.
4. The breast ornament of claim 1, wherein the flexible plastic member is inherently adhesive.
5. The breast ornament of claim 1, wherein the back face of the flexible plastic member has a waterproof adhesive coating.
6. The breast ornament of claim 5, wherein the coating of waterproof adhesive on the back face of the flexible plastic member is thicker in the area proximal to the inner edge of the C.
7. The breast ornament of claim 1, wherein, upon attachment of the breast ornament to a breast, none of the nipple and areola is covered by the breast ornament.
8. A method of applying a substantially C-shaped or reverse C-shaped breast ornament comprising a flexible plastic member having a front face which has a decorative design applied to it and an adhesive back face, and an adhesive backing sheet removably attached to the adhesive back face, the method comprising the steps of:
peeling the adhesive backing sheet away from the adhesive back face;
and sticking the breast ornament to a breast by way of the adhesive back face such that the breast ornament partially encircles the nipple.

9. A method according to claim 8, wherein none of the nipple and areola is covered by the breast ornament.
