Abstract
Un procédé de récupération dhydrocarbures souterrains, notamment du pétrole lourd ou du bitume, dans lequel une phase dinjection de vapeur en fond de trou est suivie dune application de chaleur dans la zone située à proximité du trou de forage du réservoir, la chaleur étant appliquée uniquement durant les périodes sans injection de vapeur. Nimporte quelle technique peut être utilisée aux fins de lapplication de la chaleur, notamment les éléments chauffants électriques, les ondes radioélectriques, les ondes électromagnétiques et les micro-ondes. Le fait de ne pas appliquer de chaleur durant la phase dinjection de vapeur confère de nombreux avantages. Quoique préférable pour une utilisation avec des techniques de récupération de stimulation cyclique par la vapeur, le procédé peut être appliqué avec dautres techniques de récupération à base de vapeur.
