Abstract

L'invention concerne une amélioration d'un spectromètre de masse à temps de vol et à piège à ions comprenant un ensemble d'électrodes disposées pour produire à la fois un champ de confinement RF à quadripôle et un champ dipôle sensiblement homogène. En mode de fonctionnement, les ions sont d'abord confinés par le champ RF puis, à un temps sélectionné, le champ de confinement RF est discontinu, et le champ dipôle est utilisé pour accélérer les ions de manière à initier une analyse par spectromètre de masse à temps de vol (TOF MS).
