Abstract
This Invention Provides a way to cut a majority of the plastic cup in the single serving coffee units publicly referred to as Puck or Kcup, from Tassimo and Kuerig Machines respectively. This ability gives consumers a way to minimize the waste that goes into landfill and increase what is being recycled. This invention is unlike scissors or other conceived devices which most likely release the ground coffee all over the area, the invention minimizes the mess with almost the same effort of cutting a sheet of paper.
Description
Summary Of the Invention The invention are made of 4 main components the Blades (Fig.1- 1 and 2), Springs (Fig.1- 3 and 4 this may be optional in later designs), the casing which comes in 2 pieces (Fig.2- 10- 11) and the fasteners (Fig.1 5,6,7 and 8).
Detailed Description of the Invention The Invention as illustrated In Fig.1 works by inserting the product through the hole (Fig.1-9), Using the other hand applying pressure on the blades (Fig.1-1 and 2) while turning product (Fig.4) and Invention in opposite directions, in a few turns the product will come apart cleanly (Fig.5).
The Mk1 completed version minus the springs basic dimension are 75mm x 75mm x 6mm. The blades (1-2) used are basic box cutter blades so as to have access to a market that will allow consumers to replace the blades once they are dull. The springs (3-4) at this moment have not been installed in the working unit which is why we have left it as optional at this moment. The casing unit (10-11) on the working sample is made from clear acrylic and certainly will not be used as final product casing due to recycling standpoint. As for fasteners on the working unit we have used #4 machine screws, washers and bolt.

Claims (3)
1. Combining at least three of the main components figured in the illustration of this Invention could be used to dismantle the Kcups and pucks.
2. With proper use the Invention will dismantle Kcup and pucks.
3. Mk1 design is for prototype puposes and will not be sold to public as is although a redesigned product will be produced and released to market.
