Abstract
For a front hitch assembly, you need to attach it to the front of your vehicle. This can lead to having to deface the vehicle, or having to fumble with bolts to attach it. In this invention the hitch can be attached and removed in less then a minute. The hitch simply slides into the vehicles frame through the tow hood area. A locking plated locks the hitch into the tow hook, preventing it from moving. A bolt and washer are inserted to prevent the hitch from unhooking. This allows a more safe and constructive way of backing in a trailer. No need to worry about accidents or other damages.
Description
Front Hitch Assembly, with Locking Plate, For Front of Vehicle Specification:
This invention relates to a hitch that is attached to the front of a vehicle equipped with a tow hook.
It is very common for hitches to be attached to the rear of a vehicle;
however, in some cases it would be easier to drive the trailer into place instead of having to back it in. The market currently requires a hitch which needs to be attached to the front of the vehicle. This may require fumbling with bolts or having to deface the vehicle.
I have found these disadvantages can be overcome by using the tow hook and frame of the vehicle. The hitch is inserted into the frame and held in place by a locking plate, bolt and washer on the tow hook.
This makes a unique and easy alternative as opposed to anything currently available.
In the following diagrams I have illustrated my invention. Figure 1 shows the locking plate (1), secured to the tow bar by means of welding, which locks the tow hook. Washer (2), Bolt (3) are a backup measure to prevent unhooking of the hitch. Figure 2 illustrates locking plate (1) secured via weld to a generic hitch.

Claims (2)
1. A locking plate welded to a hitch allows for quick installation and removal from a tow hook found on the front of vehicles.
2. A locking plate as defined in claim 1 with a bolt and washer as a backup safety measure to prevent the tow hook from unlatching
