Abstract
This present invention is an inexpensive plastic extruded H- shape profile varying in length fitted over and between adjacent wood fence boards. The invention is a device for filling the gap produced from shrinkage along the face width of the adjacent wood boards, thus maintaining the full privacy of an adjacent wood board fence structure.
Description
PLASTIC FILLER FOR WOOD BOARDS
FIELD OF INVENTION
The field of Invention pertains to wood board fences and wood board railings.
The present Invention is a device of widely varying length, slightly in shape, or complexity or cost etc. designed to fill the gap between wooden boards due to shrinkage across the face width of the adjacent wood boards, thus in hand maintaining full privacy of a wood board structure.
BACKGROUND OF INVENTION
The fence industry has come along way in the past years, providing us with alternative methods of providing the fence owners with privacy on their property. This present invention is very unique with its own purpose to solve a problem pertaining to a wood board fence having a flush adjacent board structure. The installation of a wood board fence at the time of construction will provide privacy to the owner. After years go by the moisture is released from the wood boards, causing shrinkage in the face width of the adjacent boards. In which produces an increasing gap up to 5/8 of an inch reducing the privacy of the fence. The present Invention provides blockage of this gap as the fence boards release the moisture over time, maintaining the full privacy of the fence.
DESCRIPTION OF INVENTION
The present invention 1 is a plastic filler for wood boards comprising of simply an H-shape profile extruded to any length manufactured from pure or recyclable plastic.
The present invention 1 is extruded forming two cavities having a slight taper 2 on opposite sides of the H-shaped profile in which the wood fence boards 3 fit into, providing a slight pressure fit 5 against the parallel walls within the cavities. The moisture in the wood will escape from the wood fence boards 3 causing the face width 4 to shrink causing a gap 6 to form between these adjacent boards over time. The present invention 1 is designed with a deep cavity on both sides of itself to allow for a growing gap 6 totaling up to 5/8 of an inch between the wood fence boards 3. The wood fence boards 3 start to shrink across the face width 4 moving away from the center of the present Invention 1 within the cavities. Eventually the wood fence boards 3 can not shrink across the face width 4 anymore and the present invention 1 remains intact stationary between the adjacent wood fence boards 3. The present invention 1 is supported by the edge of the wood fence boards 3 remaining in the cavities. The gap 6 that was produced from shrinkage across the face width 4 is still covered by the present invention 1, thus giving full privacy of the fence. The present invention 1 also will provide an attractive appearance to the wood board fence structure.
SUMMARY OF INVENTION
The Invention is a simple generally H - shaped device of varying lengths which is pressure fitted over and between adjacent wood boards of a wood board fence and a wood board railing to maintain blockage of the gap caused by shrinkage across the face width of the adjacent wood boards, thus maintaining full privacy of the wood board structure.

Figure 1 is a 3D drawing showing the actual visible appearance at a given length of the Invention. Figure 2 is a top view of the device 1 showing the simple H -Shaped profile and the slight taper 2 within the two cavities of the invention. Figure 3 displays one device 1 fitted over two adjacent wood boards showing the device 1 parallel to the wood boards 3. The wood board 3 is inserted into the device 1 on each side. Figure 4 is a top view of the device 1 installed into the fence structure showing the wood board 3 inserted into both sides of the device 1. The device 1 provides a pressure fit 5 over the wood board 3, thus giving structural support along the length for the wood board 3.
The board gap 6 is produced by the shrinkage across the face width 4 of the wood board 3 and is filled by the device 1 to maintain the full privacy of the wood board fence structure.
