Abstract
La description présente le mode de fonctionnement d'un procédé d'injection de solvant cyclique visant la récupération de pétrole visqueux d'un réservoir souterrain de pétrole visqueux en vue d'améliorer l'efficacité de la récupération. Le procédé de solvant cyclique comprend l'utilisation d'un puits d'injection pour injecter un solvant réducteur de viscosité dans un réservoir souterrain de pétrole visqueux. Le pétrole à viscosité réduite est amené à la surface par le puits utilisé pour injecter le solvant. Le procédé d'alternance d'injection de solvant et de production d'un mélange solvant/pétrole visqueux dans le même puits se poursuit pendant une série de cycles jusqu'à ce des cycles supplémentaires ne permettent plus d'économies. Habituellement, la composition de solvant reste constante dans le temps pour chaque cycle d'injection et d'un cycle à l'autre. Dans la présente méthode, par contre, la composition de solvant varie dans le temps, ce qui offre les avantages fonctionnels décrits.
