Description

, DISHWASHER
[0001] The present invention relates to a dishwasher comprising a drawer wherein items to be washed are disposed.
[0002] In dishwashers, in addition to the racks wherein items to be washed are disposed, drawers situated in a position close to the ceiling are used in order to provide the effective use of the washing volume. Drawers are generally suitable for the disposition of thin and long items like cutlery, thus, provide the dead spaces in the washing chamber to be utilized.
[0003] In the state of the art embodiments developed for this purpose, drawers are pulled open and pushed closed by moving on mechanisms such as rail and slide secured to the portion of the side walls that are close to the ceiling.
[0004] In another state of the art embodiment, the United States of America Patent Application No US20050241682, a dishwasher comprising a hanger secured to the ceiling of the dishwasher and a drawer situated in a position close to the ceiling such that it will be pulled open and pushed closed by moving back and forth on the guide rails fixed to this hanger is explained.
[0004a] Document US 35556625 describes a dishwasher having a rack movable mounted either to the dishwasher ceiling or the dishwasher side walls. The rack consists of an intermediate rack and two side-racks. The side racks can be mounted at different vertical positions.
[0005] However, in these state of the art embodiments, the drawer restricts the effective use of the rack thereunder particularly when high items such as high wine glass are disposed or of the edge regions used in two levels.

la [0006] The aim of the present invention is the realization of a dishwasher comprising a drawer enabling the inner volume of the dishwasher to be used effectively by increasing the loading capacity.
[0007] The dishwasher realized in order to attain the aim of the present invention is described in the present patent specification.
[0007a] More particularly, and according to one aspect of the present invention, there is provided a dishwasher comprising - a body, - at least one rack mounted to the dishwasher side walls having a base and side walls surrounding the base and wherein items to be washed are disposable, - two glass loading areas located in the portions, that are adjacent to the side walls, of the rack which is close to the ceiling of the body, and whereon wine glasses or more than one cup one over the other are disposable;
- at least one hanger fixed to the ceiling of the body, - at least one guide rail mounted to the hanger and - at least one drawer wherein items to be washed are disposable, the drawer having a width so that the drawer will remain between the two glass loading areas, characterized by the drawer being mounted to the guide rail in a movable way such that the drawer will not overlap with the glass loading areas, the drawer having a width such that it will remain between the glass loading areas located on both sides of the rack positioned thereunder.
[0007b] Other aims, aspects, embodiments, variants and/or resulting advantages of the present invention, all being preferred and/or optional, are briefly summarized hereinbelow.

, lb [00081 For example, the dishwasher of the present invention comprises a drawer which is mounted onto at least two hangers fixed oppositely to the ceiling of the body of the dishwasher such that it will move back and forth and which extends between the glass loading areas, having a width so that it will remain between the glass loading areas located on both sides of the rack positioned thereunder. Since the drawer is not in alignment with the glass loading areas of the rack thereunder, the drawer does not prevent high items such as wine glass from being disposed in these areas.
[0009] In an embodiment of the present invention, the drawer is hung to the ceiling from the middle by means of a hanger and a guide rail mounted to this hanger.
[0010] In another embodiment of the present invention, the drawer is hung to the ceiling from the sides by means of two hangers and two guide rails mounted to these hangers.
[0011] In an embodiment of the present invention, the width of the drawer is almost equal to the distance remaining between the two glass loading areas. Thus, the inner volume of the dishwasher is provided to be used more effectively.
[0012] In an embodiment of the present invention, the rack comprises auxiliary racks mounted to the side walls such that they will extend from the wall onto the glass loading area in order to provide loading to the glass loading areas in two levels. The auxiliary racks can rotate preferably around the edge wherefrom they are mounted onto the side wall. The auxiliary racks that can be brought to a position perpendicular and parallel to the side wall by rotational movement carry the item disposed thereon when in the position perpendicular to the side wall. Since another small item can also be disposed under the auxiliary rack in this position, carrying at two levels is provided. The drawer has a width and is in a position that it will not contact the auxiliary rack during this movement of the auxiliary rack.
[0013] In different embodiments of the present invention, there is more than one height whereat the auxiliary rack can be used. The drawer has a size and is in a position that it will not hit the auxiliary rack at any of the different heights where the auxiliary rack is mounted during its movement.
[0014] In an embodiment of the present invention, the rack can be moved upwards and downwards such that it will be able to be fixed at different heights. In this embodiment, the drawer has a size and is in a position that it will not restrict the use of the glass loading area in different positions of the rack.
[0015] By means of the present invention, the dishwasher is enabled to be used more efficiently by minimizing the dead spaces in the dishwasher.
[0016] The model embodiments relating to the dishwasher realized in order to attain the aim of the present invention are illustrated in the attached figures, where:
[0017] Figure 1 ¨ is the perspective view of a dishwasher.
[0018] Figure 2 ¨ is the front view of the dishwasher when the drawer is not mounted.
[0019] Figure 3 ¨ is the front view of the dishwasher when the drawer is mounted.
[0020] Figure 4 ¨ is the detailed view of the rack, drawer and auxiliary rack of the dishwasher.
[0021] The elements shown in the figures are numbered as follows:
1. Dishwasher 2. Body 3. Rack 4. Base 5. Side wall 6. Glass loading area 8. Hanger 9. Guide rail 10. Drawer 11.Auxiliary rack [0022] The dishwasher (1) comprises - a body (2), ., . ' , - at least one rack (3) having a base (4) and side walls (5) surrounding the base (4) and wherein items to be washed are disposable, - two glass loading areas (6) located in the portions, that are adjacent to the side walls (5), of the rack (3) which is close to the ceiling (T) of the body (2), and whereon wine glasses or more than one cup one over the other are disposable, - at least one hanger (8) fixed to the ceiling (T) of the body (2), - at least one guide rail (9) mounted to the hanger (8) and - at least one drawer (10) which is mounted to the guide rail (9) such that it will move thereon and wherein items to be washed are disposable (Figure 1 and Figure 2).
[0023] The drawer (10) has a width that it will remain between the two glass loading areas (6), and is mounted to the guide rail (9) in a movable way such that it will not overlap with the glass loading areas (6). Thus, the drawer (10) is prevented from restricting the use of the glass loading areas (6) and the inner volume of the dishwasher (1) is provided to be used more effectively.
[0024] In an embodiment of the present invention, the drawer (10) is fixed to the ceiling (T) almost from the middle by means of a hanger (8) and a guide rail (9) mounted to this hanger (8). Thus, the drawer (10) is provided to be mounted to the ceiling (T) by using minimum number of components.
[0025] In another embodiment of the present invention, the drawer (10) is fixed to the ceiling (T) from the sides by means of two hangers (8) and two guide rails (9) mounted to these hangers (8), extending parallelly from the front towards the rear at the ceiling (T). Thus, the drawer (10) is provided to be fixed to the ceiling (T) in a balanced way that enables the drawer (10) to carry more load.
