Abstract
A self-lighting cigarette includes a cigarette and a sleeve. Igniting material applied directly to the tobacco filler at one end of the cigarette and a fragment of igniting material is applied to the lip of the same end of the cigarette which is connected to the main igniting material. The sleeve is sheathed on the cigarette, the inner surface of the sleeve is provided with an abrasive coating. When the sleeve is pushed out of the cigarette, the inner surface of the sleeve will make friction contact with the fragment of the igniting material enough to burst it into a flame thereby burst the main igniting material into flame.
Description
SELF-LIGHTING CIGARETTE
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
This invention relate to improvement in cigarette and a like, and has particular reference to a self-lighting cigarette having the ignition material and the striking surface all in one cigarette.
Self-lighting cigarette has been known for quite some time, the advantage of such cigarette is the elimination the necessity of using the conventional means for lighting cigarettes.
Some of the drawback of self-lighting cigarette is that some designs has apply radial force to one end of the cigarette to ignite the cigarette which will bend or break the cigarette, and other design is very expensive to manufacture and not feasible, beside the time taken from igniting the cigarette until one can have the first buff may distinguish the cigarette flame.
It is desirable to have a self-lighting cigarette which is simple and feasible to manufacture and easy to use.
Accordingly one of the principle objects of present invention is to provide a design for self-lighting cigarette that is cost effective and feasible to manufacture.
A further object of this invention is to provide a design for self-lighting cigarette that is easy to use and fun.
A further object of this invention is to provide a design of self-lighting cigarette which does not requires packaging redesigning.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
The present invention consist of cigarette having cigarette wrapper, tobacco filler, the cigarette have suitable igniting material applied to one end of the cigarette, the cigarette also have a sleeve sheathed on the cigarette, the inner surface of the sleeve is provided with adhesive coating.
The igniting material is directly applied to the tobacco filler at one end, the igniting material can be spread to the tobacco filler at one end of the cigarette or the cigarette can be dipped into the igniting material.
Fragment of the igniting material is applied on the lip of the cigarette wrapper at one end and connected to the igniting material applied to the tobacco filler.
One fragment or more or continuous ring of the igniting material can be applied to the lip of the cigarette at one end and must be connected to the igniting material applied to the tobacco filler at one end of the cigarette.
The sleeve is conical and sheathed on the cigarette and can move freely on the cigarette axis, the inner surface of the sleeve is provided with abrasive of suitable material for frictional engagement with the igniting head of the cigarette.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION
Referring now to the drawings in detail, it will be seen that the embodiment of the invention which has been illustrated comprises a typical cigarette 1, a tobacco filler 3 surrounded by a paper wrapper 2.
Located at one end of the cigarette 1 is a main igniting material 4 applied to the tobacco filler 3 at one end, and a fragment of the igniting material 5 applied to the lip of one end of the cigarette and connected to the main igniting material 4.
Sheathed on said cigarette is a conical sleeve 6 made of paper which is heavier and stiffer than the wrapping paper.
The inner surface of the sleeve or portion of the inner surface is the striking surface 7 which is provided with abrasive coating of a suitable material for frictional engagement with the igniting head of the cigarette and is made of similar material found on the striking surface of a conventional safety match box.
The smaller end of the conical sleeve fit snugly on the cigarette outer diameter to ensure good fractional contact with the fragment of the igniting material 5, the bigger end of the sleeve just enough to easily pass the edge of the fragment igniting material5.
As illustrated on fig 5 & fig 6 by pushing the sleeve 6 out of the cigarette 1, the inner surface of the sleeve which is provided with abrasive coating will make frictional contact with the fragment of the igniting material 5 enough to burst it into a flame thereby burst the main igniting material 4 into flame and the cigarette is ignited.
The purpose of making the sleeve conical is to provide minimal force required pushing the sleeve out of the cigarette while ensuring good frictional contact with the fragment of the igniting material;
this is a preferred design and works better than cylindrical sleeve which will requires extra force to push the sleeve out of the cigarette.
The main igniting material 4 which applied directly to the tobacco filler at one end of the cigarette, this igniting material can be applied by spraying a suitable igniting material directly to the tobacco filler at one end or the cigarette can be dipped into the igniting material whichever is feasible in the manufacturing process.
Using one fragment of igniting material 5 work best for this application, more than one fragment or even a ring of the igniting material can also be used if deemed necessary for easier manufacturing process as long as it is connected and continuous to the main igniting material 4.
The foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the invention, the present invention is not limited to the features of this embodiment, but includes all variations and modifications within the spirit of the invention or the scope of the claims.
