Abstract
A seat belt adjuster is provided for adjoining the lap belt to the shoulder belt of an automobile seat belt to prevent the shoulder belt from rubbing against the neck of the wearer. The adjuster is made of a single piece and cannot be separated. The device attaches to the shoulder belt by means of hook and loop fastening. The bottom portion of the device attaches to the lap belt by way of a metal snap. In the event of collision the snap portion of the device would disengage.
The adjuster can easily slide across the lap belt and shoulder belt of the automobile therefore adjusting the position of the shoulder belt away from the neck.

Description
Comfortable Belt Seat belt Adjuster Harness.
Background of Invention The invention pertains primarily to conventional vehicle seat belt assemblies operating with a lap belt and a diagonally extending shoulder strap.
The invention addresses shoulder strap repositioning devices often called "adjusters" or "clips" that reposition the diagonal extending shoulder strap of vehicle seat belt assemblies.
Traditional seat belt assembles which normally have a lap belt and diagonally-extending shoulder straps are designed primarily for use by average sized adults. Use of the assembly results in the shoulder strap extending across the chest and shoulder of the average sized individual.
When the seat belt assembly is used by persons not conforming to the dimensions of the average adult the result is that the shoulder strap extends across the neck or face.
Invention The Invention is described as a belt having a top a bottom a front and a rear. One end has a snap and the other end has a hook and loop mechanism more commonly known as Velcro TM.
The snap portion of the harness is looped around the lap belt to stay permanently on the lap section of the seat belt. The other end of the belt adjuster is then attached to the vehicle shoulder belt by the hook and loop portion of the harness. The harness is allowed to move freely from left to right and can be adjusted for comfort. This also allows the harness to shift in case of collision or impact and does not interfere with the safety mechanism of the seat belt.
Operation The result achieved by this invention is that the adjuster harness is attached to the lap and shoulder belt. After fastening the seat belt attach the snap end of the harness to the lap belt and the hook and loop end of the harness to the shoulder belt. Please ensure that the adjuster harness is not twisted.
Adjust harness left or right to allow shoulder belt to be drawn away from neck. When leaving the vehicle unlatch the seatbelt. The harness adjuster stays in place.
When re-entering vehicle fasten seatbelt and adjust harness left or right for comfort.
