Abstract

An invention is described having the form of device for the catalytic coating of surf aces and honeycomb bodies, which as a result of a stainless steel powder precoating enables a long6r-lasting product, lower sensitivity, a larger temperature application range, and a longer service life, and of a method for use in flameless catalytic condensing boilers, in the catalytic post-purification of thermal waste air purification systems and as a coating for fuel cell membranes.

Claims (7)

1. Device for catalytic coating of honeycomb bodies and surfaces that are usable for oxidation reactions, characterized in that these surfaces are precoated with a layer of fine precious metal powder and then coated subsequently with a catalytically active substance.
2. The device as recited in claim 1, characterized in that the coating with the precious metal powder is carried out with a powder having a grain size < 10 µm and a sugar solution, and the bodies are then burned at 800 to 1000°C.
3. The device as recited in claim 2, characterized in that the surface that has been precoated with metal powder and burned is then post-coated with an aqueous solution of lanthanum-cerium-cobaltite crystal powder.
4. A method for catalytic post-purification of waste gases from thermal waste gas purification characterized in that a honeycomb chamber or honeycomb ring that has been coated catalytically is used.
5. A method for applying the device or coating, characterized in that the honeycomb bodies produced in this manner from metal powder precoating and catalytic post-coating are used as a component after thermal waste gas purification.
6. The method for applying the device or coating, characterized in that the catalysts are used in two layers, as a gasification layer with subsequent heat exchanger, secondary air injection, combustion layer and subsequent heat exchanger.
7. The method for applying the device or coating, characterized in that the layer according to the invention is applied to the membrane separating the fuel cells, and is used there as a hydrogen or methanol reaction layer, and as an oxygen layer.
