Abstract
My invention consists of a neck of a string instrument such as guitar, violin, cello, double bass, etc. that folds up for storage and transport. This improvement makes it possible to shorten the length of the instrument by half. In addition, by making the sound box smaller, the instrument is narrower. A removable part can be incorporated into the instrument for more comfortable playing if required. The invention includes several innovations: The neck is made of solid wood from one nut to the other, which improves its sound. The rosette is no longer in the middle of the body but on the side. The keys are lighter and smaller due to the removal of the handles by a single one which serves for all the keys. This innovation lightens the instrument and makes it even more compact. I believe this invention will be very useful on many occasions.
Description

(Fig.7 et 8) Description 1 The present invention is a rope instrument neck that bends without that we. removes the strings to make the instrument more compact, thus promoting transport and its storage. To do this, some pieces had to be invented because of originality of this new mechanics.
The drawings provided in this application represent a guitar. The invention applies on the other hand, all string instruments with a handle such as a violin, cello, against bass, etc.
There is a foldable guitar on the market that folds in its middle at neck level but the handle bends at the front to come to settle on the front of the guitar and thicken it in its storage position. In addition, the strings are left to them same and the sound box is not reduced, which means that the instrument is not really compact and its random mechanics.
My invention (Fig. 1) consists of a string instrument neck that folds in his middle through a hinge but the said handle of the instrument bends for to come lodge inside the crate rather than on its top in order to decrease volume when storing and / or transporting it. Both parts of the neck become then in parallel position. The problem of the strings is solved by a cylinder under tension which regulates the tension of the strings by allowing the elongation of these when folding so that they remain firmly anchored on the keys. A part of the checkout Resonance is detachable or removable to reduce the volume during transport.

Once reinstalled, this part can be adjusted to the player's jig for a better ergonomics and for more comfort. The sound of the instrument can be amplified in an autonomous way thanks to an integrated amplification system comprising a microphone, an amplifier and a speaker.

Stringed B) holes C) nut D) cylinder E) lock F) lever G) spring Description (continued) 2 H) hinge J) cushion K) reinforcing rods L) keys M) handle or joystick N) fixed cash desk P) removable case Q) amplifier R) speaker S) body support The strings of the instrument go through holes through the body of the instrument, behind the saddle of the deck of the crate to come and settle on the back of the instrument on a cylinder. (Figs 2A and 2B) The cylinder is kept in a stable position thanks to a lock. A little the sink manual is used to operate the lever to release the latch when folding handle and when unfolding the said sleeve when you want to return the instrument in normal play position. (Fig. 3) The cylinder turns under a slight tension caused by a spring so that the ropes remain wrapped properly around the keys although much of the voltage released by the lever when unlocking the lock. (Fig. 3) In order not to bend the ropes unduly at the hinges during the folding handle, a soft and rounded cushion is installed to the left and right of the hinge, on the handle button. (Fig. 4A, B, C) The hinges of the handle extend in the handle in rods which serve for strengthen the said sleeve. (Fig. 5) The keys of the instrument have square tips that allow you to use a same handle to tune the instrument. This handle transfers a key to the other which lighten and further reduce the volume of the instrument. (Fig. 6) The instrument has a half sound box which is fixed but another part can be attached to it for ergonomic reasons or amplification if the instrument is a guitar for example. (Fig.7 and 8) In addition this removable part can adjust to the template of the player or player sliding from left to right on the instrument to adjust. Body support also removable is intended to facilitate ergonomics. (Fig. 8) An amplification system is incorporated into the instrument to increase it amplitude sound. It consists of a battery amplifier, a microphone and a built-in speaker.
