Abstract
My invention is a flashing "warning" light source illuminated from a plastic solid peg mounted on top of a 1 inch aluminum pole. There will be an LED (light emitting diode) inside the aluminum pole projecting a fiber optic light source into the solid plastic peg.
The purpose is to create a flashing (red) light acting as a beacon on the handicapped motorized vehicle for all to see without much difficulty.
The purpose is to create a flashing (red) light acting as a beacon on the handicapped motorized vehicle for all to see without much difficulty.
Description
USE
The light beacon will act as a visual warning that a motorized vehicle is being used and operated by a handicapped individual on public property to transport themselves around.
It is intended to minimize accidents between motorized handicapped vehicles and general automobiles, trucks, buses etc.crossing on the main roadways. The light fixture will be mounted behind the operator's seat supported on the vehicle with its own power source. The beacon will be tall enough to extend beyond the operators head for clear visibility.
MAIN COMPONENTS
The make up of this invention will be a plastic peg sleeved onto a 1" aluminum pole with the aluminum pole housed into a waterproof junction box, that encases the battery power electrical source and main on/off switch.
Under the plastic peg ( on top of unit ) will be an LED ( light emitting diode ) of high intensity, in turn providing a light source (red) that will flash on/off consistently while the motorized handicapped scooter/cart is being operated. Refer to drawing attached

Claims
CLAIM
After searching statistics in North America there is no product of this in existence.
Handicapped users are operating a motorized scooter/cart that is very difficult to see and vulnerable to accidents with automobiles on roadways.
Handicapped individuals are at risk, in fact, there is an accident everyday of the year in every city in North America with motorized scooter/carts.
This invention is a warranted application especially for existing handicapped operators they do not at this time have built in warning beacon lights that are readily visible.
New scooter/cart manufacturers can instantly build beacons into the design for future safety by purchasing this invention idea. Existing carts can purchase this unit.
