Abstract

Un système d'étranglement des paquets est prévu pour un dispositif d'extrémité de réseau comportant des unités centrales de traitement (CPU) et un système d'exploitation ayant un code de gestion d'interruption pour mettre en ouvre les gestionnaires d'interruption dans une ou plusieurs des unités centrales de traitement pour le traitement des interruptions. Le système d'étranglement des paquets comprend un examinateur de charge d'interruption de l'unité centrale de traitement, un calculateur de période d'étranglement et un terminateur de gestionnaires d'interruption. L'examinateur de charge d'interruption de l'unité centrale de traitement examine, pour chacune des unités centrales de traitement, une charge d'interruption de l'unité centrale de traitement actuelle du processeur qui est une proportion du temps d'une unité centrale de traitement qui est passée à traiter les gestionnaires d'interruption. Le calculateur de la période d'étranglement calcule une période d'étranglement pour chacune des unités centrales de traitement sur la base de la charge d'interruption de l'unité centrale de traitement actuelle. La période d'étranglement est une période entre les réceptions de paquets autorisées pour l'unité centrale de traitement. Le terminateur de gestionnaires d'interruption termine un gestionnaire d'interruption de réception de paquets traitant une interruption de réception de paquets dans une unité centrale de traitement réceptrice si la période d'étranglement de l'unité centrale de traitement réceptrice n'est pas dépassée depuis que l'unité centrale de traitement réceptrice a traité un dernier paquet reçu autorisé.
