Abstract

A method for sealing a tire retreading envelope before vulcanization of a new tread and the bonding rubber materials utilizes a pair of rigid circular rings and a series of clasps on the ring for clasping the ring tightly onto the exterior of the tire casing bead with the envelope in between the bead and the rings. The tire with the new tread and bonding materials is enclosed inside a completely sealed envelope afterward in the vulcanization process of the tire retreading. With each ring clasping tightly onto each side of the bead, envelope is completely touched and pressed against the surface of the new tread and the sidewall of the new tread, bonding materials and the tire casing. As one of the bonding materials, sidewall rubber is made of a blend of anti-fatigue components and performances as camelback shoulder support as well as for the precured tread edge finishing. While the envelope is pressed tightly onto the sidewall of the tire casing as well as the sidewall rubber throughout the vulcanization process, the pattern inside the envelope where locates in the same position as the portion touched the sidewall rubber is branding and carving with the pattern when the envelope is evacuated and the tire goes through the vulcanization process.

Description

Patterned Tire Retreading Envelopes DISCRIPTION OF THE PRIOR ARTS

Commonly, the inside of tire retreading envelope is smooth and no prints/patterns at all. The sidewall rubber is bonding to the sidewall of the tire casing and concealing the new tread edge to the tire casing after coming out from the vulcanization chamber with a smooth surface as well. Even though the sidewall rubber, in a certain degree, can conceal the bonding of the new tread and the tire casing well, the major disadvantage of the previous arts of tire retreading envelopes is the possibility of separation occurring between the lower margin of the sidewall rubber and the tire casing in the later on transportation performances.

This separation might not necessarily create the separation between the tire casing and the new tread, which the problem most of the transportation companies are afraid of so that to avoid using retreaded tires. However, the separation between the lower margin of the sidewall rubber and the tire casing is definitely a serious aesthetic problem to the tire retread products and to a large certain of degree, hitting down the confidence of retreaded tire users and rising up the controversies in the tire retread industry.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

The invention by creating patterns inside a tire retreading envelope relates generally to an improved aesthetic appearance of the sidewall rubber as well as to the overall aesthetic appearance of finished retreading tire products. After the vulcanization process, the sidewall rubber is branding and carved with the pattern inside the envelope. The most importantly, with the pattern carved into the sidewall rubber, air or other factors are prevented from passing between the sidewall rubber and tire casing both through the vulcanization process and the transportation performances.

The invention successfully uniformly bond the precured sidewall rubber to the tire casing by largely incr-easing-thebonding--strength-betweenthem-and=r the-area-ofthey-are-bonding-more-tightly-together, in order to eliminate the risks that they might separate by air or other factors passing.

Claims (4)

1.The apparatus for sealing a retreading envelope comprising:

a pair of rigid circular rings sized to fit against the exterior of the tire casing bead, with the patterned retreading envelope placed between the rings and the tire casing;

with centering the tire casing inside the patterned retreading envelope, the both sidewalls of the envelopes should enclose both sides with similar length;

a series of clasps press tightly and continuous against the envelopes to the exterior of the tire casing bead.
2. The rigid circular ring as recited in claim 1 usually has several years of lifespan and must be abandoned if the deformation of shape occurs for the secure of sealing the retreading envelope.
3. The series of clasps as recited in claim 1 are build in the rigid circular ring including a clasp arm movable between an open and a closed position.
4. The patterned retreading envelope as recited in claim 1 has the patterns located inside the tire retreading envelope, the same position as the engaged position to the sidewall rubber, as a result, the pattern is only branded and carved onto the portion of sidewall rubber.
