Abstract

A waterproof electric outlet is provided for outdoor installation and use with a plug of an electric appliance. In the waterproof electric outlet, a plurality of unit sockets are provided on an acting side of a receiving body, which has an upper portion formed with corresponding spaced-apart lugs. A pin passes through and thereby assembles together the lugs above each of the unit sockets, matching lugs formed on at least one cover, and a torsion spring received between corresponding ones of the lugs. The pivotally connected cover is provided therein with a water-absorbing material and a sealing ring. The plug can be conveniently inserted into the electric outlet for power supply after the cover is lifted up. When the electric outlet is idle, the cover on a front side of the electric outlet is constantly closed to prevent moisture from entering therein.

Claims (2)

1. A waterproof electric outlet to be installed outdoors for use with a plug of an electric appliance, comprising a receiving body having an acting side provided with a plurality of unit sockets, wherein a plurality of electrically conductive elements are installed in the receiving body, and a base plate covering a backside of the receiving body is secured to the receiving body by a plurality of threaded fasteners to form a single piece, the electric outlet being characterized in that:

the receiving body has an upper portion formed with corresponding spaced-apart lugs corresponding to each of the unit sockets;

at least one cover has an upper end formed bilaterally with lugs on an inner portion thereof, and accommodates therein a water-absorbing material and a sealing ring; and a pin is configured to pass through and thereby assemble together the lugs on the upper portion of the receiving body corresponding to each of the unit sockets, the lugs on the at least one cover that match with corresponding ones of the lugs on the receiving body, and a torsion spring received between the lugs on each of the at least one cover;

wherein, when the waterproof electric outlet is to be used with the plug of the electric appliance, the plug can be conveniently inserted into the electric outlet for power supply after one of the at least one cover is lifted up, and when the electric outlet is idle, each of the at least one cover on a front side of the electric outlet is constantly closed to prevent moisture from entering therein.
2. The waterproof electric outlet of claim 1, wherein each of the at least one cover pivotally connected to the acting side of the receiving body is formed with a groove adjacent to an inner perimeter thereof for accommodating the sealing ring evenly therein.
