Abstract
Un gant de hockey dont le pouce comprend une couche supérieure et une couche inférieure reliées ensemble sur leur pourtour respectif pour définir une cavité, un logement pour le pouce et une ossature rigide pour le pouce à insérer dans la cavité. L'ossature rigide en forme de pouce comprend une première section couvrant partiellement la phalange proximale du pouce, une deuxième section couvrant partiellement la phalange médiane du pouce et une troisième section couvrant partiellement la phalange distale du pouce. La deuxième section comporte une fente proximale se prolongeant entre la première et la deuxième extrémités, et une fente distale se prolongeant aussi entre la première et la deuxième extrémités. L'ossature rigide pour le pouce est munie d'une goupille proximale passant dans la fente proximale de la deuxième section et une goupille distale passant dans la fente distale de la deuxième section. Lors de l'utilisation, lorsque la deuxième section pivote par rapport à la première section vers la position de fermeture, la goupille proximale s'appuie sur la deuxième extrémité de la fente proximale pour empêcher toute flexion excessive du pouce, et lorsque la troisième section pivote par rapport à la deuxième section vers la position de fermeture, la goupille distale s'appuie sur la première extrémité de la fente distale pour empêcher toute hyperextension du pouce. Lorsque la troisième section pivote par rapport à la deuxième section vers la position d'ouverture, la goupille distale s'appuie sur la deuxième extrémité de la fente distale pour empêcher toute hyperextension du pouce.
