Description
Brief Description of the Drawings Fig 1 is a schematic illustrating a beverage dispensing cooling system constructed in accordance with this invention Detailed Description of the Invention Fig 1 shows a beverage dispenser cooling system particularly for use in dispensing beer on tap. The system includes a storage container such as a beer keg 1 containing beer and a beer keg 7 containing beer. The kegs will typically be located within a portable trailer.
Pressurized tanks 3 and 5, usually containing carbon dioxide, beer gas or compressed air are connected by line 72 and 73 to the interior of kegs 1 and 7 for applying pressure to the beer therein. The contents of the beer kegs 1 and 7 are connected a heat exchange coils 15 and 66 by lines 68 and 71. The heat exchange coils are submerged in icewater 40 in tanks 9 and 11. Agitator pumps 12 and 42 move the ice water around the heat exchange coils 15 and 66 to enhance heat exchange from the beer to the ice water. Beer flows through the heat exchange coils 15 and 11 and is chilled. The beer flows from the coils through lines 30 and 67 to dispensing taps 36 and 35. The temperature of the ice water in tank 9 is maintained by ice cubes 80 at a temperature around 32 degrees F. The temperature of the ice water in tank 11 can be adjusted. A temperature probe 22 reads the temperature of the water in tank 11. The temperature probe 22 is connected to a temperature controller 20. The controller can be adjusted so that a desired temperature above 32 degrees can be set. Once the temperature of the ice water in tank 11 rises above the desired temperature that is set on the temperature controller 20, the controller will turn on pump 23 which will pump ice water from tank 9 into tank 11. excess water will flow back into tank 9 through port 70. Once the water in tank 9 reaches the set temperature on the temperature controller 20, the controller will turn pump 23 off.

Claims (5)
1. I claim, A beverage distribution system, comprising:
a) two containers for storing a beverage;
b) at least two beverage dispensing units;
c) at least one distribution line for delivering the beverage from the container to the dispensing unit;
d) A tank containing a mixture of ice and water e) A cooling coil submerged in the tank f) An agitation device to move the ice water about the cooling coil g) A pump that is located in the tank that is fluidly connected to a second tank h) A heat exchange coil that is located in the second tank i) An agitation device that moves the water in the second tank about the heat exchange coil.
j) A temperature measuring and control device that will turn on the pump in the first tank so that water from the first tank mixes with the water in the second tank thereby lowering the temperature of the water in the second tank to a desired temeprature.
