Abstract
A construction safety device for temporarily attaching a safety line to a chord of a roof truss, comprising, a first "U-shaped" element adapted to temporarily and securely engage with the underside of the chord, a second "inverted U-shaped" element adapted to temporarily and securely engage with the first element and the chord, and means for temporarily and securely engaging the safety line to the first element.
Description
BACKGROUND DESCRIPTION OF PRIOR ART
1. Roofing Safety Bracket United States Patent number Des 255,869 fits down over the top or under side of a truss and is nailed or screwed into position providing you with an anchor point. This bracket will provide you with a fall arrest system in unison with a harness, lanyard and shock absorber.
1. Roofing Safety Bracket United States Patent number Des 255,869 fits down over the top or under side of a truss and is nailed or screwed into position providing you with an anchor point. This bracket will provide you with a fall arrest system in unison with a harness, lanyard and shock absorber.
2. Nets of various design used to catch you during a fall.
OPERATION OF THE CONSTRUCTION SAFETY SYSTEM
Installation requirements and estimating of Life Line Bracket. The life line bracket is installed around the upper chord of an exposed truss to provide an anchor point while sheathing in a pitch roof of a building. It will save you during a fall from injury or death. To install the life line bracket, you slid the lower sleeve under the upper chord of the truss then slide the upper sleeve directly over the top of the lower sleeve and nail it into position with 1'i" 6 ga duplex nails. Connect one end of the lanyard to the vertical arm through the hole at the top of the vertical arm.
To remove the life line bracket, the reverse procedure would apply.
OBJECTS AND ADVANTAGES
Our objective was in designing this fall arrest system that it had to get the maximum strength from the member in which it was connected to. It had to be installed and removed easily. It had to be able to be moved from one point to another easily and quickly. It had to be durable and reusable.
This fall arrest system completely surrounds the outside diameter of the member to which it is attached to and locks itself in position increasing the strength of the member to which it is attached. It can be installed and removed by trained unskilled labour.
It will not rust and has very low maintenance. It is durable and reusable. It can be incorporated into existing systems for superior protection. It is easily assembled.
DESCRIPTION OF DRAWINGS
Fig. 1 Isometric drawing of the Life Line Bracket components. The upper sleeve and the lower sleeve with a side elevation drawing of bracket assembled with all components with each of the components identified.
DESCRIPTION OF INVENTION
Description of assembly Life Line Bracket in Fig. 12 as shown in drawing consisting of frame (54,56,58). The life line bracket is made up of two components consisting of Fig.
12, lower sleeve frame 54,56, the upper sleeve frame 58. The two components are locked together using nails.
54/ aluminum U channel with various nail holes 56/ vertical elongate member of rectangular aluminum plate welded to aluminum U
channel with a hole at the top 58/ aluminum U channel with various nail holes with one side of the U channel notched out

Claims (3)
1. in circling the outside diameter and attaching it and securing it into a fixed position, increasing the strength of the member at that given point of attachment
2. having an elongate member affixed or attached with various holes
3. having an upper and lower component or side to side component fitting into one another forming a rectangle opening in the centre enabling it to be attached in a fixed position on a member
