Abstract

La présente divulgation porte sur une méthode permettant de déterminer la profondeur d'un puits de forage. Cette méthode comprend la détermination d'un changement dans la masse suspendue d'un train de tiges de forage, entre deux instants consécutifs. Un changement est déterminé dans la position axiale du tronçon supérieur du train de tiges de forage entre les deux instants consécutifs. La quantité attendue de compression de train de tiges de forage ayant trait au changement dans la masse suspendue est corrigée relativement au déplacement d'un tronçon inférieur du train de tiges de forage entre les deux instants consécutifs. La position du tronçon inférieur du train de tiges de forage est calculée à partir du changement dans la position axiale et de la quantité corrigée de compression dudit train de tiges. Dans une version, la correction comprend l'estimation du déplacement du trépan en déterminant le déplacement axial du train de tiges de forage à la surface terrestre, entre deux instants consécutifs auxquels le train de tiges de forage présente la même valeur de masse suspendue.
