Abstract
An apparatus to protect the mounting area (202) of casing and a locating profile (209) and optionally a sliding sleeve valve (200) and a flow path fromthe outside of the valve to the annulus when subsequent attachment of an expanded liner (218) is intended and the expanded liner is to be cemented in place. A barrier sleeve (204) , nose (207) , and outer sleeve (210) define a sealed cavity having a loose incompressible material (208) inside that covers the mounting location on the casing. A locating profile and an optional sliding sleeve valve and a flow path from the outside of the valve to the annulus can be provided. The cementing of the casing takes place through the barrier sleeve. After the cementing, the sleeve and nose are drilled out and the incompressible material is removed to the surface with the drill cuttings.
Claims (9)
1. A completion method, comprising:
delivering a cementing shoe with a tubular to be expanded;
running a swage assembly through said tubular;
engaging the cementing shoe with said advancing swage assembly;
cementing the expanded tubular through said cementing shoe.

engaging the cementing shoe with said advancing swage assembly;
cementing the expanded tubular through said cementing shoe.
2. The method of claim 1, comprising:
advancing said cementing assembly though said tubular as said swage assembly exits said tubular.

3. The method of claim 1, comprising:
initially delivering said shoe within said tubular to be expanded.

4. The method of claim 1, comprising:
initially delivering said shoe below said tubular to be expanded.

5. The method of claim 2, comprising:
repositioning said cementing shoe within the tubular after said running said swage assembly.

6. The method of claim 5, comprising:
sealing between said repositioned cementing shoe and said tubular.

7. The method of claim 6, comprising:
actuating a seal to perform said sealing.

8. The method of claim 1, comprising:
delivering a run in shoe with said tubular to be delivered;
engaging both said cementing shoe and said run in shoe with said swage assembly; and cementing through both said cementing shoe and said run in shoe.

9. The method of claim 8, comprising:
milling out both said cementing shoe and said run in shoe after said cementing.
