Abstract

La présente invention concerne une pièce légère de charpente métallique dotée d'une multitude de creux et d'une multitude de nervures de renforcement sur la surface. Les creux et les nervures de renforcement sont orientés vers l'intérieur et coopèrent pour aider à renforcer le poteau métallique. La présente invention concerne aussi une méthode de fabrication de pièce de charpente métallique dotée d'une multitude de creux et d'une multitude de nervures de renforcement sur la surface. Les creux et les nervures de renforcement sont orientés vers l'intérieur et coopèrent pour aider à renforcer le poteau métallique. La méthode consiste à utiliser un appareil de profilage à froid ayant un premier rouleau dont la surface est dotée d'une multitude d'éléments en saillie et un second rouleau dont la surface est dotée de trous alignés avec les éléments en saillie situés sur la surface du premier rouleau pour former les creux de la surface de la pièce dont les bordures sont clairement définies et généralement alignées avec le plan de la feuille de métal. Un second appareil de profilage est utilisé avec un premier rouleau dont la surface est dotée d'éléments en saillie pour former les nervures de renforcement sur la surface de la feuille et d'un second rouleau pour permettre une transition plus douce entre la surface de la feuille et les bordures des nervures de renforcement de manière à ne pas déformer indûment les creux formés lors de la première étape. Un troisième appareil de profilage doté de rouleaux permettant de former le poteau ou la piste de métal est utilisé.
