Abstract
Un processus est décrit pour la récupération de minéraux lourds à partir de résidus de sables bitumineux aqueux, les résidus de sables bitumineux contenant des minéraux lourds, d'autres solides grossiers tels que la silice, les fines, le bitume résiduel et l'eau, incluant le deschlammage des résidus de sables bitumineux en retirant une portion des fines libres et du bitume résiduel des résidus de sables bitumineux; en effectuant l'attrition des résidus de sables bitumineux dans une cellule d'attrition pour retirer les fines adhérentes et le bitume résiduel des minéraux lourds et des autres solides grossiers; et en soumettant les résidus soumis au deschlammage et à l'attrition à un processus de séparation visant à séparer les minéraux lourds des autres solides grossiers présents dans les résidus soumis au deschlammage et à l'attrition et à produire une fraction concentrée en minéraux lourds.
