Abstract

Dispositif d'assistance à l'enseignement électronique conçu pour être utilisé dans l'enseignement de l'arithmétique et prenant la forme d'un dispositif de calcul électronique doté d'éléments d'entrée, d'un affichage et d'une unité centrale. Le dispositif reçoit l'entrée de l'utilisateur qui indique un premier et un deuxième opérande et une opération arithmétique à effectuer en fonction des opérandes. Chaque opérande est affiché comme une série d'icônes, et le nombre d'icônes de chaque série est égal à l'opérande respectif. Une grille affichée comportant de multiples rangées ou colonnes de dix cellules facilite la visualisation d'une réponse à l'opération en format décimal. Les icônes sont faites pour occuper les cellules dans ladite grille d'affichage afin de représenter visuellement la réponse, et chaque cellule est occupée par un maximum d'une icône. En fait, le nombre de cellules occupées représente la réponse. Les icônes de la deuxième série sont regroupées en deux groupes et les groupes sont faits pour occuper des rangées ou des colonnes adjacentes de la grille. Une visualisation du report arithmétique est ainsi donnée.
