Abstract

The invention relates to an electric reducing furnace (1) for carrying out reduction processes, particularly for reducing slag in order to recover metallic constituents. The electric reducing furnace operates with electrical energy that is fed into the furnace interior (Oi) via at least one electrode.
The reducing furnace (1), while having an air-sealed design, comprises a charging opening (3) for charge stock, which is conveyed via a charging device (4), whereby the charging opening also simultaneously serves as a waste gas exhaust opening (3) for the resulting gas.
