Abstract

The invention provides a means to close, or fill in the gap that is present between an automobile's front seat(s) and centre console. It is shaped in the form of a wedge with a depressed surface in order to cradle and retain any objects that may fall onto it. It is made of high-density foam which compresses to fit into all gaps smaller than 2 inches in width; generally the majority of automobiles in production. The foam is upholstered in a stretchable nylon fabric and comes in several colours in order to suit the wide range of interiors found in many automobiles.

Description

BACKGROUND
The conception of the invention is ground-breaking. The existing gap present between an automobile's front seats) and centre console has been a cause of stress for drivers due to the effortless ability to lose small items such as coins, keys, cellular phones etc..., underneath the seat which sometimes become un-retrievable. With many automobiles still being manufactured with a gap present between both the front driver and passenger seats, and the automobile's centre console, the problem needed to be addressed.

DESCRIPTION
The invention is a single monolithic piece of high-density foam. Its cross-section is shown in Figure 1.
Figure 2 shows a longitudinal illustration of the invention. The foam is made in the shape of a wedge, essentially an inverted triangle with a height of 3 inches, and base (width) of 2 inches and a total length of 15 inches. The base surface is depressed approximately one third of an inch to the centre of the base, as illustrated in Figure 1. The I S inch length is suitable for all car seats and the 2 inch width is sufficient to fill in the gap in the majority of automobiles on the road at present time.
Figure 3 shows the invention in place between a typical seat and centre console.

Claims (3)

1) All dimensions, including length (15"), width (2"), height (3") and depressed feature on the surface of base (1/3" triangular depression to centre of base plane).
2) The use of monolithic high-density foam.
3) The use of high tensile strength, stretchable nylon upholstering for the foam.
