Description

LED Lighting Chain Background of the Invention s This invention relates to the field of decorative lights and particularly an improved structure of LED lighting chain.
Decorative light is one of most often used household goods. LED decorative light, with its colorful lights, can be used to achieve strong setting off and to decorating effects in the night. ~To acquire more market shares, decorative light manufacturers are working hard on the research and development of new products that are easy to use and have a better effects.
To optimize the effects of LED lights, it is recommended to use DC power 1s supply for high brightness and non-glittering. AC power supply can lead to a shortened lifespan ~ of LED fights. The prior art of LED lighting chain, as shown in Fig.1, has a front plug (01 ), which can be connected to AC power supply, and a rear plug (02). The positive and negative $erminals of the front and rear plugs are connected by a power cord; and an ACIDC converter (03) parailel.with power cords.
20 The output end of the ACIDC converter (03) is connected with at least one serial set (04) consisting. of multiple (foi- example, 100) LED lights with serial connection.
Fig.1 shows only one LED serial set (04). 1n case of multiple LED serial sets are used, parallel connection should be adopted to allow the same voltage at the two ends of each 'LED serial set (04).
The ACIDC converter, as shown in Fig.2, is a bridge-type rectifying. device using 4 leading wires, 031, 032, 033 -and 034. This riot only reduces the .vvsual effect of the lighting chain, but also leads, to a higher cost. In addition, since there is not a voltage reducing device in LED serial set (04)y the voltage at the ends of LED
3o serial set maintains the voltage of power supply, i.e. 200V or 110V. This means the ~
' CA 02464026 2004-04-13 number of LEDs used in the LED serial set (04) cannot be more or less than 100 (in the case of 220V power supply) or, 50 {in the case of 110V power supply), because the rated voltage of one LED light is usually 2.2V. This greatly reduces the flexibility of current LED lighting chain~products.
Summary of the Invention In view of the disadvantages of fibs prior art, the object of the invention is to provide an improved structure of LED decorative lighting chain that can solve the problems above-mentioned.
To, achieve aforesaid object, the LED (ightirig chain of the invention comprises a front plug, a rear plug, an ACIDC converter consisting of 4 rectifying diodes, and at least 1 LED serial set. In case multiple LED sets are used, a parallel connection is adopted. The rectifying diodes are divided into 2 groups, with each group including 2 rectifying diodes. The negative ends of the 2 rectifying diodes of the first group are connected in parallel, and their positive ends are connected with wires connecting the positive and negative ends of the front and rear ends respectively.
As fbr the 2 rectifying diodes of the second group, their positive ends are 2o connected together, and their. negative ends are connected with wires connecting the positive and negative ends of th.e. front and rear ends respectively. The LED
seriai.set is connected between the negative end of the rectifying diodes of the first group and the positive end of the rectifying diodes of the second group.
2s As an improvement made to the aforesaid technical solution, a voltage-reducing device is installed between multiple LED serial sets connected in parallel and the positive end of the rectifying diodes of the second group..
By means of the aforesaid method, 4 rectifying diodes are divided into 2 groups o and the LED serial set is set up between these 2 groups, this can help reducing the' ' CA 02464026 2004-04-13 'FP04011 CA
use of one wire, and contribute to simplified structure, improved visual effect, and reduced manufacturing cost.
Brief Description of the Drawings 'this invention, as welt as its advantages, may be furkher understood by the following detailed description and drawings, in which:
Fig.1 is the schematic circuit diagram of conventional dec6rative lighting chain.
io Fig.2 is'the schematic circuit diagram of ACIDC converter illustrated in Fig.1.
Fig:3 is the schematic circuit -diagram of Example 1 of this utility model.
Fig:4 is the schematic circuit diagram of Example 2 of this utility model.
Detailed Desct~iption of the Preferred Embodiment The following is merely an . embodiment, thus will not limit the range of protection of this invention.
As shown in Fig.3 and Fig.4, the LED lighting chain includes a front plug (10), a 2o rear plug (20); ari ACIDC converter consisting of 4 rectifying diodes (31'34), and at least 1 LED serial set (30). 1n. case of multiple .LED sets (40) a.rewsed, a parallel connection is adopted (See Fig.4): The said rectifying diodes.(31~34) are divided into 2 groups, with each group including 2 rectifying diodes. The negative ends of the 2 rectifying diodes (31 and 32) of the first group are connected in parallel, arid 2s their positive ends are connected with the positive and negative ends of the front . , and rear plugs (10 and 20) respectively. As fo.r the 2 rectifying diodes (33 and 34) of the second : group, their positive ends are connected . togethe.r in parallel, and their negative ends are connected with the positive and negative ends 'of the front and rear plugs (10 and 20) respectively. The said LED serial set (40) is connected o between the negative end .of the .rectifyin.g diodes (31 and 32) of the first group and the positive end of the rectifying diodes (33 and 34) of the second group.
Of course; the connection method can be different from what shown in Fig.3 and . , Fig.4. The position of the rectifying diodes (31 and 32) of the first group can s be changed to the position of those of the second group (i:e. 3$ and 34), and vice visa. But if this is the case, the direction of the positive and negative ends of LEDs in LED serial set should also be changed correspondingiy..As shown in Fig.3 and Fig.4, only 3 wires (301, 302 and 303) are needed for the ACIDC converter ~f LED
lighting ,chain, which means one wire is spared comparing with the conventional lighting chain.
In addition, for .allowing more flexible selection of the number of LED (40) in LED serial set, a voltage-reducing device, which consists of a resistance (51 ) and a capacitor (52), is s,et up in the LED serial set. In this way, by selecting the proper resistance, the voltage at the ends of LED serial set can be changed to allow a flexible selection of the .number of LEDs used in the serial set.
