Abstract
Dans le rotor de machine de flottation de cette invention, une partie corps définit une zone intérieure conçue pour communiquer avec une source de gaz. Au moins une pale de rotor fait saillie radialement vers l'extérieur à partir de la partie corps, ce qui définit au moins une ouverture en communication gazeuse avec la zone intérieure. L'ouverture est adjacente à la pale de rotor et est définie en partie par un bord périphérique inférieur. Au moins une lèvre fait saillie radialement vers l'extérieur à partir du bord périphérique inférieur de manière que durant le fonctionnement du rotor, des solides se déplaçant le long de la partie corps soient projetés radialement loin du rotor par cette lèvre et deviennent approximativement alignés avec l'ouverture. Ainsi du gaz s'écoulant de l'ouverture crée des bulles dans la suspension épaisse, lesquelles entraînent au moins une partie des particules solides. Les bulles et les particules solides forment une mousse à la surface de la suspension épaisse, laquelle mousse peut être retirée de la machine de flottation.
