Abstract
The invention relates to a therapeutic device that is used to treat symptoms caused by diseases, such as pain or other different types of symptoms. The inventive device comprises a clamp which is clipped to the outer ear of the patient. The ends of said clamp are flared and provided with a shape similar to the part of the outer ear, right or left, to which the clamp is clipped.
The flat, flared end of the snap clamp which rests against the front side of the ear is provided with projecting elements which alleviate said symptoms.

Description
~ CA 02460636 2004-03-15 THERAPEUTIC DEVICE FOR THE TREATMENT OF SYMPTOMS C:~USED BY
DISEA E
The present Utility Model relates to a therapeutic device for the treatment of symptoms caused by diseases.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
Currently, different medications such as anal?esics, are used to treat symptoms such as pain, caused by diseases, However, the use of these medications may be contraindicated or have unwanted side effects that do not arise with the device of the invention l~
DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
The device of the invention, because of its constitution and utilisation, serves optimally for the treatment of symptoms, especially pain, associated with different '_'0 diseases. using the therapeutic technique of acupuncture. in its auricular form. One or more devices can be used simultaneously depending on the symptoms caused b~-the different diseases to be treated.
The apparatus is recommended mainly for the treatment of pain in Qener al and other symptoms. such as ne~v ous states. allergies. pins and needles in arms an.i n4r,~a.
_~ et;... although it can be urea -o trzat the symptoms caused ov any disease.
In accordance with'the invention. the device consists of a pincer for holdinU
it on thz ear of the patient. with the ends of the pincer being flattened and 4vid~ned with different forms. depending on the part of the ear to which it is to be clipped.
One of the broad tat znds of the pincer ideailv has one of its m~o surfaces ~0 smooth, while, at (east, the other broad flat end has a granulated inner surface. iormin;
protuberances.
The pincer tends, in state of rest, to close, such that the granulated face of one of ~:he broadened ends is in co:~tact with the other broadened part, due to the for-r: of the spring of the pincer itself. It can be opened by pressing one of the pressure points for opening.
In order to place the device in the auricula of the patient, the pincer is opened, simultaneously pressing the pressure points for opening the device, and placing it such that the granulated surface of one of the broadened ends presses against the front side of the auricula. The pressure of the fingers is released once the pincer has been put in the appropriate place of the ear. It remains attached by the pressure exerted by the broadened ends of the pincer on the ear. It is precisely the pressure exerted by the granulated face of one of the flattened ends on the anterior face of the auricula that is what causes the therapeutic effects.
The pincers, especially their flattened ends, are in different forms depending on whether they are designed to be applied to the high, middle or lower part of the concha and inferior cimba) of the auricula, and whether it is the right or left ear of the patient, to be adapted to the corresponding forms of the ear and produce its therapeutic effects.
1 ~ The devices preferably incorporate an indication that indicates whether they are to be used on the left or right ear.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE FIGURES

DESCRIPTION' OF ~~ EVIBODIVIE~T OF THE I~VE~TIO
Device 1 of the invention consists of a pincer ? which at rest is closed.
whose ends constitute some broad flat pieces 3> ~ that press against the ear of the patient.
One of the broadened ends -l has two smooth surfaces, while the other ~0 broadened end 3 has, on its face that presses against the anterior side of the auricula of the patient, some granulated protuberances 6 that provoke the therapeutic effects of the device based on the technique of acupuncture.

In order to facilitate the placement and/or withdrawal of the device ontolfrom the ear of the patient, the pincer has some points 7, such that, on pressing these points with the fingers, the pincer opens. It can then be easily placed or withdrawn.
The broadened ends 3 and 4 may have different forms to adapt to the different positions for placement on the ear to place on the right or left ear, ideally incorporating indications for which ear the device is intended.
The nature of the invention, as well as a way of realising it in practice, has been sufficiently well described, but it should be stated that the devices described hereinabove and represented in the attached figures can undergo changes in details without altering the fundamental principle of the invention.
