Abstract
A device to stop a household door from moving because of an non perpendicular door frame or because of shifting of the house or wind currents throughout the house opens or closes the door unwillingly.
Description
FIELD OF THE INVENTION
This invention is to hold a household door from moving once it is set by the occupant. This apparatus serves as retainer for a household door.
This apparatus replaces the existing hinge on a interior door with a hinge that would create resistance to hold the door in an open position.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
This apparatus was invented to stop the self closing or self opening of the common household door. The very annoying closing is usually stopped by a block of wood or a pet rock on the floor to stop the movement of the door. I have found that this apparatus that I have invented has rendered control over where I wish to leave the door position either open or semi open. Some doors are placed in areas that a small wind will close them, this apparatus can be made to resist just by tightening the nuts.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
This apparatus is normally made of metal with a bronze finish or of a solid bronze hinge. The apparatus looks hike an ordinary hinge door assembly with minor changes. The hinge is made up two parts, one upper part and a lower part. For the sake of manufacturing they are identical parts. To connect the two parts a bolt with treaded ends. serves as connecting the hinge together, with two nylon washers at both ends and two more nylon washers in the middle. To restrict the movement of the door you just tighten the nuts at both ends creating friction on the nylons. Nylons are used because they are resistant and that the friction does not create noise by rubbing on each other.

Claims (4)
1. An apparatus that can be installed with or replace a common hinge.
2. An apparatus that can reduce the unwanted movement of a door.
3. An apparatus that, by using washers can restrict the movement of a door.
4. An apparatus made in two parts can be pressure sensitive and create static restriction.
