Abstract

La présente invention concerne des fibres de celluloses présentant des pressions de désorption médianes faibles et des valeurs de rétention d'eau (VRE) ainsi que des propriétés améliorées de drainage et d'écoulement fluidique. Ces fibres peuvent être avantageusement utilisées dans des couches de collecte, de diffusion et de collecte-diffusion, ou dans des structures à noyau absorbant. Un mode de réalisation décrit dans cette invention concerne un procédé permettant de préparer des fibres de cellulose par affinage des fibres de cellulose à un indice d'égouttage compris entre environ 300 et environ 700 ml, puis par réticulation des fibres affinées. Dans un autre mode de réalisation, les fibres réticulées avec au moins un acide dicarboxylique saturé, un acide dicarboxylique aromatique, un acide dicarboxylique cycloalkyle, un acide monocarboxylique bifonctionnel, ou un acide dicarboxylique aminé. Un assistant de réticulation, tel que l'acide oxalique, peut être utilisé lors de la réaction de réticulation de manière à améliorer l'efficacité de l'agent de réticulation. Un autre mode de réalisation décrit dans cette invention concerne un noyau absorbant comprenant des particules de polymère super-absorbant et des fibres réticulées à réaction chimique réversible.
