Abstract

The invention relates to a method for stopping conveying equipment for persons, which comprises a holding brake (3), wherein on response of the safety element a braking ramp (1) determined by a frequency converter (2) co-operating with a drive motor (4) is activated, by means of which the conveying equipment for persons is brought to a standstill, wherein the holding brake (3) is activated shortly before standstill. The operational safety of the braking system is thus increased.

Claims (4)

1. Method of stopping conveying equipment for persons, which comprises a holding brake , wherein on response of a safety element a braking ramp determined by a frequency converter co-operating with a drive motor is activated, by means of which the conveying equipment for persons is brought to standstill, characterised in that the holding brake is activated before standstill.
2. Method according to claim 1, characterised in that the frequency converter is switched off only when the holding brake comes into effect.
3. Method according to claim 1 or 2, characterised in that the speed of the conveying equipment for persons is constantly measured.
4. Method according to claims 1 to 3, characterised in that the holding brake is activated when the conveying equipment for persons has attained a speed of 0.1 m/s.
