Abstract

A steerable trailer assembly allowing the directional movement of wheels.

Description

Steerable trailer assembly BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION:
Field of the invention:
The present invention relates to a steerable trailer assembly allowing the directional movement of wheels.
Description of the retated art:
A search of prior art records has unveiled the following patents:
1. CA 1,289,986 issued in 1991 to Winkler;
2. CA 384,283 issued in 1984 to Mergen;
3. CA 2,152,245 enregistered in 1995 to Chagnon; and 4. US 4,955,630 issued in 1990 to Ogren.
The patents mentioned above are probably the most relevant. As can be seen, the patents differ from my application and do not show a steerable trailer assembly allowing the directional movement Qf wheels.
It is well known to used a hitch assembly for coupling a trailer to a tow vehicle, but any system adapted to a trailer sold at the present on the market allows the directional movement of wheels.
Summary of the invention:
The gist of the invention is therefore to provide a trailer with a system allowing the directional movement of wheels.
In accordance with the teachings of the present invention, there is disclosed a trailer including the directional wheels, on which is mounted the towing hitches to the structure frame and to a tow bar, a cable connected to electric motor passing along tow bar and of the structure frame, and a wheel support is engaged to the structure frame in front of trailer.

An elongated rod is provided of fastenings means allowing to connect the cambers angle which are mounted to each directional wheel and connected to a central part member by the use of a smaller connecting rod, and which the casters are connected between the cambers angle and wheels.
A chock absorber is connected at one end of the rod by the use of bolts and nuts, or other conventional fastenings means to the central part member, which prevents the vibration movement of the rod connected to cambers angle.
The electric motor activates the longer parts members allowing to make turn the directional wheels, and which the smaller parts members join the longer parts members to electric motor.
The parts members are mounted to the central part member by the use of connecting rods allowing swivelling movement of parts members, which the plates and parts members are connected together by the use of bolts and nuts or other conventional fastenings means, which maintain the center portion of leaf springs suspension assembly, and which are provided with fastenings means engaged to the structure frame .
Brief description of the several views of the draw, in~(sl:

Figure Z shows a bottom perspective view thereof;
Figure 3 shows a bottom plan view thereof;
Figure 4 shows a bottom view showing the wheels turning towards the left of trailer;
Figure 5 shows a bottom view showing the wheels turning towards the right of trailer;
Figure 6 shows a rear plan view of steerable trailer assembly;

Figure 7a shows a top perspective view of steerable trailer assembly showing the wheels turning towards the left of trailer;
Figure 7b shows a top perspective view of steerable trailer assembly showing the wheels turning towards the right of trailer;
Figure 8 shows an exploded view of steerable trailer assembly including the structure frame; and Figure 9 shows an exploded view of steerable trailer assembly Detailed descriution of the invention:
With reference to figs. 1 to 9, there is illustrated a trailer {A) including the directional wheels (9), on which is mounted the towing hitches (1) to the structure frame and to a tow bar (19), a cable (2) connected to electric motor (16} passing along tow bar (I9) and of the structure frame; and a wheel support (3) is engaged to the structure frame in front of trailer (A).
An elongated rod (4) is provided of fastenings means allowing to connect the cambers angle (6) which are mounted to each directional wheel {9} and connected to a central part member (10) by the use of a smaller connecting rod (8), and which the casters ('1) are connected between the cambers angle (6) and wheels {9).
A chock absorber (5) is connected at one end of the rod (4) by the use of bolts and nuts, or other conventional fastenings means to the central part member (10), which prevents the vibration movement of the rod (4) connected to cambers angle (6}.
1'he electric motor (1f>} activates the longer parts member {11)(12) allowing to make turn the directional wheels (9), and which the smaller parts members (17)(18) join the longer parts members (11}(12) to electric motor (1G).
The parts members (15) are mounted to the central part member (I0) by the use of connecting rods (20) allowing swivelling movement of parts members (15), which the plates (14) and parts members (15) are connected together by the use of bolts and nuts or other conventional fastenings means, which maintain the center portion of leaf springs (13) suspension assembly, and which are provided with fastenings means engaged to the structure frame.
Although only a single embodiment of the present invention has been described and illustrated, the present invention is not limited to the features of this embodiment, but includes ail variations and modifications within the scope of claims.

Claims (2)

1. A steerable trailer assembly, which includes the directional wheels, on which is mounted the towing hitches to the structure frame and to a tow bar, a cable connected to electric motor passing along said tow bar and of said structure frame, and a wheel support is engaged to said structure frame in front of said trailer. An elongated rod is provided of fastenings means allowing to connect the cambers angle which are mounted to each said directional wheel and connected to a central part member by the use of a smaller connecting rod, and which the casters are connected between said cambers angle and said directional wheels. A chock absorber is connected at one end of said rod by the use of bolts and nuts, or other conventional fastenings means to said central part member, which prevents the vibration movement of said rod connected to said cambers angle. The parts members are mounted to said central part member by the use of connecting rods allowing swivelling movement of said parts members, which the plates and said parts members are connected together by the use of bolts and nuts or other conventional fastenings means, which maintain the center portion of leaf springs suspension assembly, and which are provided with fastenings means engaged to said structure frame.
2. The electric motor of the claim 1 activates the longer parts member allowing to make turn said directional wheels, and by which the smaller parts members join said longer parts members to said electric motor.
