Abstract
Un ensemble pile à combustible à membrane et électrolyte polymère (10) comporte un côté anode (12) et un côté cathode (14), séparés par la membrane et générant du courant électrique par des réactions électrochimiques entre un gaz combustible et un oxydant. Le côté anode (12) comporte une plaque arrière de diffusion de gaz (24), en contact avec un côté de la membrane (16) et contenant des zones hydrophiles permettant la fourniture d'eau liquide directement à un côté de la membrane (16), à travers lesdites zones de la plaque arrière de diffusion de gaz (24). Dans un mode de réalisation préféré, on forme les zones hydrophiles de la plaque arrière de diffusion de gaz (24) en cousant un fil hydrophile (34) dans celle-ci (24).
