Abstract
The Thank Dog Keg Supply is a nylon fabric barrel keg shaped object that affixes to a dog's collar. It has gathered elasticised openings on either end of the 'keg'.
It is made of nylon fabric and has either two webbed loops or two leather snapped loops, which allow it to be attached to the collar.
The 'barrel' holds standard plastic grocery bags. These bags are used to pick up faecal droppings made by the dog. Essentially; the dog carries its own bag supply, which is readily accessible to the dog walker.
Variations to the design include 'kegs' made of reflective fabric, as an added safety feature. As well, graphics or names and sayings may be stencilled or screened onto the 'keg'. The product is called a Keg Supply and is to be produced by Thank Dog Products.

True: Dog's Keg SuppIY
This is a dog collar mounted sanitation accessory which keeps a ready supply of plastic bags easily accessible to the dog walker. It affixes to the dog's collar by either leather snapped straps or by woven mebbed loops (depending on the style of collar used).
The user supplies their own standard size plastic grocery bags. They stuff the 'keg' with as many as will fit. The bags are hetd in the tube by elasticised gathered openings at either end of the fabric tube 'keg'. The waNcer then may pull a bag from the'keg' when one is required to be used in the practice of picking up canine faecal droppings, then to be disposed of in a sanitation container.
The design is similar to the household used grocery bag collectors, usually made of cotton and of much larger proportion. Having shrunk this principal to a usable size, wee then affix two straps to the unit that it may be vwrn comfortably by the dog, on its ooHar.
This invention permits people to have their dogs sport their own supply of poop-bags, instead of the ownerlwalker having to stuff their pockets with bags for the intended outing. The item is solely a carrier for bags. The bags are supplied by the owner and depending an the size of the 'keg' (made in various sizes for the respective dog sizes) behMeen two and seven standard siz~ plastic grocery bags can be stored within.
We tried making our prototypes of cotton with ve. ~r~ straps but realised dogs are much rougher on fabric and they would not with~he rigours of dogs and foliage. As well the velcor straps pulled on the dog's ''~. We decided rugged nylon fabric would be better suited for the active and passive dogs. It also allows a certain elen~nt of water-proofing to the artici~. The straps were redesigned to accommodate varying styles of collars.
Not having preceding designs to alter we concocted our own and have found it very agreeable. It is simple, easy to construct and uses very little materials.
A square of nylon fabric, size dependent on the intended size required, is sewn with folded over 1l2" casings ~ two opposite sides of the square. Through the casings elastic is drawn and pulled taught to gather and pucker the edges of the two sides of the square, the elastic is then secured in its extended taught form.
(We sew the casing and inset the elastic simultaneously, saving time and energy. ) Loops are cxeated to affix the unit to the caller, Z Leather strips 1" wide and approximately 31 /2 " tong are cut end onto which are mounted a snap fixture.
The leather is folded allowing a longer tab for the top of the strap to the bottom.
The longer length has an outer finished snap attached, the smatter bottom portion of the strap has the receiving portion of the snap attached. The loop is then oomptete. The strap is folded in a way that the'fonnaf side of the snap strap would be visible once axed to the 'keg' unit.
Alternately, if a woven loop is preferred, one is cut of i" ww~e~rbbing or woven trim, 3 '1J2" long. It is folded to create an open ended loop.
Twu leather loops (which open with snaps) or woven webbed circular loops are sewn, at squat distances, to the righ! side of one of the un-gathered edges of the nylon square. The item is fiolc~d into itself with right sides facing and the un-gatthered edges are stitched down, securing the loops in place and cxeating a top seam along the length of the'keg'. The stitching over th~ loops is then reinforced with a 'zigzag' stitch to ensure the loops stay axed.
The edge of the elastic side is trimmed of ~xcess material and excess elastic.
The item is turned right side out and me have a 'keg'; a nylon tube with gathered ends and loops or straps affixed to the centre seam. tt is done in various colours of nylon and IeatherM~ebbing.
This attaches to the 's colta~ ~ cG.~ ~~~ rs~~-~-to I,v dog e-leaps. Leather snap opening loops or woven webbed circular loops are chosen by the recipient, depending on the type of collar they use on their dog.
This item has a very specific use - to carry bags to be used in canine faecal pick-up, as is a requirement in many districts. It is possible one may use it to carry other items as mall, but the initial design is intended to carry plastic bags.
Having said this, however, my dog ends it a handy portable chin rest cushion for ..... on the spot naps, as well.
