Abstract
A method and system for providing eCommerce services that are both secure and more easy to implement for merchants, eCommerce service providers and financial institutions. An internal state of a software object is transmitted across an unsecured network between a merchant and an eCommerce service provider, wherein both the party sending the software object and the party receiving the software object are identified prior to the information contained in the object being processed by the receiving party. The exemplary embodiment of the invention, hereafter referred to as "ECML" language, operates to format, digitally sign and encrypt the information transmitted to an ECML, enabled eCommerce service provider.
