Abstract
A cigarette pack case comprises two rectangle bodies each having two open sides. The two elements are attached and hinged at one end. The two elements press together and lock with a latching device on the opposite end to the hinge on the case. In the locked position the case has one open end with the opposite end having a hole.
Description
My invention relates to existing sliding cigarette packs which house cigarettes in a paper package. The sliding cigarette pack consists of two parts, an inner lining holding the cigarettes and an outer shell holding the inner lining and cigarettes. The outer shell is open at either end allowing the inner lining to slide in and out. The paper product used to hold the cigarettes offers little protection. Existing covers for cigarette packs do not allow a sliding pack to be opened with out removing it form the case.
The aim of the invention is to provide protection to existing sliding cigarette packs and at the same time allow the pack to be opened without removing it from the protective case to extract a cigarette.
The distinctive features of the case include the hardness of the case, the hinged locking lid that secures the cigarette pack and the openings at either end that allow the cigarette pack to be opened with out removing it from the protective case.
The case is comprised of any hard material that can add to the protection of the cigarettes inside the cigarette pack. The hardness of the case provides better protection than the cigarette pack by itself.
The point that the two sides of the case are attached to one another is also the hinge(6). By making this connection thinner then the rest of the protective case the connection is made bendable resulting in the hinge(6).
The latching device(7/8) of the case is located opposite to the hinge(6). One side(1/2) of the case latches(8} to the other side(3/4) of the case(7} to lock the two sides together(7/8). One side(3/4) is slightly larger than the other side(1/2) so the larger side(3/4) can fit over the other side(1/2) to latch the sides together(7/8) thus securely locking the case over the cigarette pack.
The case in a closed position has an open top. The bottom of the case(5) has a large hole(9) that a finger can enter to push the inner liner of the cigarette pack up. The cigarette packs inner liner pushed from the hole(9) in the bottom of the case(5) exits the case through the opening in the tap of the case exposing the cigarette. The hinged lid(3/4) holds the outer case of the cigarette pack in place with a small amount of tension provided by the latching device(7/8).
