Abstract

Une unité de gestion de cellules (32) reçoit les cellules MTA entrantes d'un commutateur MTA (30) et renvoie des cellules MTA sortantes au commutateur MTA. L'unité de gestion de cellules comporte un routeur de cellules (220) qui, selon le type de la cellule MTA entrante, achemine au moins une partie de la charge utile de la cellule MTA entrante jusqu'à une unité de gestion de cellules parmi d'autres. Les unités de gestion de cellules présentent une fonction démultiplexeur (260); une ressource de mise en file d'attente (230)(qui présente une fonction multiplexeur optionnelle); et une fonction de priorité absolue (266). La fonction démultiplexeur permet d'obtenir un paquet de la charge utile de la cellule MTA entrante comprenant un protocole AAL de premier type (couche d'adaptation MTA) et d'utiliser le paquet pour la préparation d'une cellule MTA sortante comprenant un protocole AAL de deuxième type. La ressource de mise en file d'attente reçoit sélectivement du routeur de cellules, un ensemble dérivé de la charge utile de la cellule MTA entrante et le met en file d'attente dans un système de mise en file d'attente. Lorsque l'ensemble mis en file d'attente est une charge utile de cellule MTA, la charge utile mise en file d'attente est utilisée comme la charge utile de la cellule sortante. Lorsque l'ensemble est un paquet (par exemple comprenant le protocole AAL de deuxième type), la fonction multiplexeur permet d'obtenir un paquet de la charge utile de la cellule MTA entrante et d'utiliser ce paquet pour la préparation d'une cellule MTA sortante comprenant le protocole AAL de premier type. La fonction de priorité absolue permet la formation d'une cellule MTA sortante à partir de la charge utile de la cellule MTA entrante sans que la charge utile de la cellule entrante soit acheminée jusqu'à la ressource de mise en file d'attente.
