Abstract
A oil-free popped wild rice cercal mix is disclosed. Due to the high protein content of the wild rice, the cercal mix makes a wholesome and nutritious breakfast dish.

Field of Invention This invention relat~cs to cereals comprising oil-free pepped wild rice as the main ingredient to provide for nutriti~~us and healthy breakfast dishes.
Background of the Invention Wild rice has hacn enjoyed by many in North America a~ part of their regular diet. Even thoubh wild rice are not grains, traditionally they are prepared like n,c~s~t other rice-like grains -hy cooking in l~mth or walc3r until they become soft and chewy. 'The cooked wild race are usually mixed with other ingredients, :such as vegetables, tiruita or meat portions.

Due to its inherent texture and the conventional ways of cooking, wild rice has not commonly boon adopted and used in cereals and are seldom consumed in breakfast. Claims (5)
OR PRIVILEGE IS CLAIMED ARE DEFINED AS FOLLOWS:
1. A wild rice cereal mix as in claim 1, wherein the dry weight percentage of the ingredients are as follows:
(a) 50% oil-free popped wild rice (b) 36% dark seedless raisin, (c) 6.5% sweetener (d) 7.5% dried fruit (e) vanilla extract equals to 25/610 ml multiply by the total weight of said cercal mix.

(a) about 45 - about 55%, oil-free popped wild rice (b) about 31- about 41% dark seedless raisins (c) about 1.5 - about 11.5% sweetener (d) about 2.5 - about 12.5% dried fruit (e) vanilla extract in the amount ranging from 20/610 to 30/610 ml multiply by the total weight of the cereal mix.

3. A wild rice cereal mix comprising in combination:
(1) about 45 - about 55% oil-free popped wild rice (2) about 31 - abut 41% dark seedless raisins (3) about 1 - about 9% chocolate chip (4) about 5 - about 15% cookie crumb (e) vanilla extract in the amount ranging from 20/610 to 30/610 ml multiply by the total weight of the cereal mix.
(1) about 45 - about 55% oil-free popped wild rice (2) about 31 - abut 41% dark seedless raisins (3) about 1 - about 9% chocolate chip (4) about 5 - about 15% cookie crumb (e) vanilla extract in the amount ranging from 20/610 to 30/610 ml multiply by the total weight of the cereal mix.
4. A wild rice cereal mix as in claims 1 and 2, wherein said dried fruit is substituted with crushed almonds or apricot.
5. A wild rice cereal mix according to any of the claims 1 to 4, wherein a desirable amount of milk is added prior to serving.
