Abstract
A window hinge having the capability of adjustment of the hinge to correct sash--sag, the improvement comprising a support arm extending between a sash arm and a track, the support arm having a first arm segment and a second arm segment which lie in a coplanar overlapping relationship along with adjustable means for securing the first arm segment and second arm segment together to adjust the length thereof.
Claims (7)
1. In a window hinge having a longitudinally extending track securable to a window frame, a shoe slidable along said track, a sash arm having one end thereof pivotably connected to said shoe, and a support arm having a first end connected to said sash arm and a second end connected to said track, the improvement wherein said support arm has a first arm segment and a second arm segment, said first arm segment having a first arm segment first end and a first arm segment second end, said second arm segment having a second arm segment first end and a first arm segment second end, said first arm segment first end being pivotably connected to said sash arm and said second arm segment second end being pivotably connected to said track, said first arm segment second end and said second arm segment first end being in an overlying coplanar relationship, and means for securing said first arm segment and said second arm segment together in an adjustable manner adjacent said first arm segment second end and said second arm segment first end.

The improvement of Claim 1 wherein said means for securing said first arm segment and said second arm segment together comprise a threaded aperture formed in a first one of said first and second arm segments, a slot formed in a second one of said first and second arm segments and a machine screw screw threadably engagable with said threaded aperture.
3. The improvement of Claim 2 wherein said threaded aperture is formed in said first arm segment and said slot is formed in said second arm segment.
4. The improvement of Claim 2 further including a second slot formed in said second one of said first and second arm segments and a guide member formed in said first one of said first and second arm segments, said guide member being moveable within said second slot.
5. The improvement of Claim 4 wherein said second slot is formed in said second arm segment and said guide member is formed in said first arm segment.
6. The improvement of Claim 4 wherein said guide member is formed from a displaced portion of a material forming said second arm segment.
7. The improvement of Claim 5 further including a clip member for securing said second arm segment second end to a stud on said track.
