Abstract
L'invention a trait à une machine électrique rotative, du type à courant alternatif, conçue pour être directement connectée à un réseau de distribution ou de transmission. L'enroulement de la machine comprend au moins un conducteur électrique, une première couche à propriétés semi-conductrices entourant le conducteur, une couche isolante solide entourant cette première couche et une seconde couche à propriétés semi-conductrices entourant la couche isolante. Un circuit d'excitation sans balais, commutable d'une excitation positive à une excitation négative, sert à exciter cette machine. Une centrale électrique peut être pourvue de cette machine électrique rotative. Selon une technique d'excitation de la machine électrique rotative par un courant d'excitation de sens à la fois positif et négatif, on connecte momentanément aux bornes de l'enroulement inducteur (4) de la machine un dispositif bidirectionnel de protection contre les surtensions survenant au niveau du champ (8, 10, 12, 14) ou un circuit bidirectionnel de décharge.
