Abstract
A coat hook or other general use hook assembly comprising a stationary wall plate which is secured to a wall or back board and a hook-like member pivotally connected horizontally to the lower extremity of the said back plate.
When manual pressure is applied to the top extremity of the said hook-like member it latches to the said back plate by the coming together of a spring-like protruding portion of the said back plate engaging into a formed depression located at the top extremity of the said hook-like member, thereby forming the said hook assembly.
I believe that my invention where ever used for its known usefulness will also be a ready apparatus for the prevention of accidental injury and or accidental death by strangulation.

Description
DESCRIPTION
The apparatus illustrated in Figures 1, 2 and 3 comprises a wall plate,Fig. 3-3, approximately 70 mm. High and 50 mm. Wide and a hook-like member,Fig. 2-7,approximately 42 mm. High and 55 mm. Wide.
The said wall plate shown in Fig.l-3 is held to a wall or back board by fasteners inserted through holes, Fig. 3-1 and Fig. 3-4.
The said Hook-like member, Fig. 1-7 is attached horizontally to the lower extremity of the said back plate , Fig. 1-3 with a retainer pin, Fig.
3-S.The said back plate, Fig 1-3 and the said hook-like member, Fig. 1-7 connect at their respective top extremities and are held in a non-permanent connected position by a spring-like member, Fig. 1-2 engaged into a formed depression, Fig. 1-6 by manual positive pressure applied by the user.
The said non-permanent connected position, Fig. 2. And Fig. 3. Becomes a non- permanent disconnected position Fig.l. when manual negative pressure is applied by the user.
