Abstract
A system which allows the public to register or record an object or service for sale, or place a notice for public attention, in mufti-media format, via an electronic kiosk for later sale over the Internet.
Description
INTERNET CLASSIFIEDS COLLECTION AND
PUBLICATION SYSTEM
Background of the Invention People who wish to place an advertisement for an object or service, or who wish to place a notice for public attention, are generally limited to the medium of newspapers and the format of the written word.
A system based on the electronic kiosk concept linked to the Internet communication network would be a potential solution.
Summary of the Invention The invention described herein is a system whereby, the public communicating via an electronic kiosk, registers or records an object or service for sale, or place a notice for public attention. This advert will be in mufti-media format, containing the written word, photographs, video clips and sound clips pertaining to the object, service or notice.
Upon validation of payment, the advert will be stored on an Internet-Accessible Web-site for perusal by the general public.
Drawings Figure 1 is a schematic of the system topography and information flow of the invention.
Figure 2 is a schematic of the software architecture of the invention.
Detailed Descri tp ion A system comprising three components -the first residing on a local "electronic kiosk" which per-mits the public to record the item to be advertised. This sub-system includes but is not limited to the following functions:
Advertising Input - Narrative - Scanned image - Video - Sound Accept Refreshed Advert Database Allow Browsing of Adverts Classification Control Database Management Control - Transmission of New Items to Central RPS com-1 S puter - the second residing on a central computer/site which coordinates the information flow and provides a validation and security function to the entire process. This sub-system includes but is not limited to the following func-tions:
Authorize Credit-card Payments Validate adverts with regard to financial and time-based criteria etc.
Transmit adverts to the Internet Service Provider (Web-site) Transmit adverts to the local electronic kiosks - the third residing on an Internet Service Provider site which is the vehicle for publication of the adverts to the Internet. This sub-system includes but is not limited to the following functions:
Accept Web-originated adverts Transmit Adverts to (RPM central computer As will be apparent to those skilled in the art in the light of the foregoing disclosure, many alterations and modifications are possible in the practice of this invention without departing from the spirit or scope thereof. Accordingly, the scope of the invention is to be construed in accordance with the substance defined by the following claims.

Claims
1. A method which allows the public to register or record an object or service for sale, or place a notice for public attention, in multi-media format, via an electronic kiosk for later sale over the Internet, comprising:
(a) a first residing on a local "electronic kiosk" which permits the public to record the item to be advertised. This sub-system includes but is not limited to the following func-tions (i) Advertising Input - Narrative - Scanned image - Video - Sound (ii) Accept Refreshed Advert Database (iii) Allow Browsing of Adverts (iv) Classification Control (v) Database Management Control - Transmission of New Items to Central RPS
computer (b) a second residing on a central computer/site which coordinates the information flow and provides a validation and security function to the entire process. This sub-system includes but is not limited to the following func-tions:
(i) Authorize Credit-card Payments (ii) Validate adverts with regard to financial and time-based criteria etc.
(iii) Transmit adverts to the Internet Service Provider (Web-site) (iv) Transmit adverts to the local electronic kiosks, and, (c) a third residing on an Internet Service Provider site which is the vehicle for publication of the adverts to the Internet.
This sub-system includes but is not limited to the follow-ing functions:
(i) Accept Web-originated adverts (ii) Transmit Adverts to (RPX) central computer
