Abstract
This multi-size, multi-purpose drink container holder is meant to be used as a container holder in or on moving vehicles (for example: cars, trucks, boats, snowmobiles water recreation vehicles, golf carts, farm-type vehicles and the like) as well as on office and computer furniture, on patio furniture and the like. In this invention, the case may be fixed permanently or temporarily to (above, below, or within) any compatible horizontal or vertical surfaces. The holder will be withdrawn from the plastic casing or pulled down from the vertical mounting bracket and the adjustable sliding plates will grasp the container which is supported by a folding stand (or strap) from below.
Description
An aspect of the invention is a holder having use for holding a container comprising a Housing mountable on a surface, a tray pivotally attached to said housing to pivot from a stored position to an open position, said tray having a central opening and a longitudinal opening joining said central opening and the front edge of said tray adjustable by movement toward and away from each other in said tray on either side of the openings defining an aperture within said central opening and anchoring means on said stop means and said tray for holding said stop means in fixed positions after adjustment.
Drawings Figure 1 illustrates a top view of the cup holder with the tray slid out of the casing in an extended position when meant to be afFtxed to a horizontal surface.
Figure 2 features an illustration of the tray affixed to the vertical mount in an open position when meant to be affixed t~o a vertical surface Specification This mufti-size, mufti purpose container holder features a housing~g. l, A) and a tray fig. 1 &2, B,) that can either sit inside), or extends outside by simply pulling it. The holder is designed to be mounted or inserted on the desired surface within or on most horizontal surfaces or be axed to a vertical mounting bracket (fig. 1 &2, ~ to be mounted on vertical surfaces. The manner by which these can be mounted is left to the discretion of the o~,~mer, whether to use adhesive products or the screw holes fig. 1&2, C~
for a more permanent fixture. Within this compact housing (fig 1 & 2, A) resides a tray fig. 1 &2, B) in which is located an opening Fig 1 & 2, D). This mufti-size, mufti purpose drink container holder is designed to accommodate drink-containers which may or may not have a handle attached to it. The tray (fig 1 & 2, B) which either slide in or out the housing Ug. The stop means ~g.1 & 2, E) are designed to hold their assigned position by means of the ridges ~g.1 &2,I~, located on the front and back edges of the stop means ~g 1 & 2, E) and tray (fig 1 & 2, B) locking in a fixed position, immobilizing the container to support the container from underneath, a bail (fig 1 &2, I) unfold below the tray ~g 1 &2B) when moved in an extended position, upon withdrawal from the housing ~g.l & 2, A). The multi-purpose drink container holder can also accommodate a container equipped with a handle. Located at the front edge of the tray (fig 1 & 2, B) is an aperture fig. 1&f, .~ which allows the handle to slide through so the container can slide Essentially, the invention is one that is designed to differentiate from other drink container holders on the market: it adjusts to the different sizes of drink containers by using a unique stop means mechanism locked in position by ridges (fig. 1 & 2, H) rubbing against each other, its size is very compact (approximately identical to a CD jewel case, it is retractable the tray operating uike a drawer sliding in and out of the housing.. It has an aperture fig. 1&2, .~, placed at the front of the tray (fig.l & 2, B) to allow a handle on the drink-container to go through. The same Mufti-size, mufti-purpose drink container holder can be mounted on fiimiture of all kinds, various equipments and moving vehicles can be used on several different applications if affixed using non permanent fasteners .
