Abstract
A drawer pull-out guide that consists of a guide rail 11 that can be fastened to a piece of furniture 12, a slide rail 14 guided by means of rolling elements and attachable to the drawer 16, and a profiled rail 16 having tracks for the rolling elements at one end area or at both end areas is to be made in a simple to construct manner in such a way that the lateral stability of the drawer pull-out guide is clearly improved without increasing the structural parts. In the drawer pull-out guide 10 of the invention, the area of the profiled rail 13 adjoining the tracks is staggered, at least by area, vis-à-vis the vertical in such a way that this area is situated in direction or almost in direction of the resulting lateral forces acting on the drawer pull-out guide 10. For this reason, the area of the profiled rail adjoining the tracks is diagonal vis-à-vis the vertical, however, it is essentially straight or also curved, nevertheless, this area can also be bent repeatedly in the same or opposite directions or have a zigzag shape. The drawer pull-out guide of the invention is particularly suitable for house furniture.
Description
Description Pull-Out Guide for Drawers The invention concerns a pull-out guide for drawers, having a guide rail that can be fastened to a piece of furniture and a slide rail that can be attached to the drawer and guided by means of rolling elements and having profiled rails provided with tracks for the rolling elements at one end area or at both end areas. Many versions of suitable pull-out guides for drawers are known.
If the drawer pull-out guide is made as a single pull-out, the guide rail is made as one piece with the profiled rail. The slide rail is then fastened to the drawer. In these embodiments, the drawer can only be partially pulled out of the piece of furniture. In a complete pull-out, the drawer pull-out guide is furnished with two slide rails, one of which is fastened to the drawer and the other to the guide rail.
However, other versions are also known in which the fixed slide rail is made as one piece with the guide rail.
In these embodiments, the profiled rail is furnished with bearing surfaces for the rolling elements at both ends. When the drawer is pulled out, the profiled rail also travels along. In the previously known designs, the area adjacent to the tracks is parallel to the side wall of the piece of furniture to which the guide rail is fastened, both in a single pull-out and in a complete pull-out version.
Therefore, as a rule, the adjoining area is perpendicular.
When a drawer is pulled out, lateral forces also act on the pull-out guide. In the previously described structures, the lateral stability of the pull-out guide is not especially high. This results in disadvantages, especially when the drawer travels in and out since, in particular, the area of the profiled rail outside of the track is elastically deformed.
The object of the invention is to provide a pull-out guide for drawers of the type described in greater detail above that is simple to construct, such that the lateral stability of the drawer pull-out guide is clearly improved without increasing the structural parts.
The object of the invention is solved thereby that the area of the profiled rail adjoining the tracks is staggered, at least by area, vis-a-vis the vertical in such a way that this area is in direction or almost in the direction of the resultant forces of the lateral forces acting on the pull-out guide.
In contrast to the previously known constructions, the area adjoining the tracks now no longer runs parallel to the side wall of the piece of furniture to which the guide rail is fastened, but this area is at least partially diagonal thereto. With respect to a drawer pull-out guide designed such that it can be completely pulled out, this area lies between the tracks of both ends. Thus, this is the middle area. With respect to a drawer pull-out guide designed as a single pull-out, this area lies between the angular guide rail and the track. The angle of inclination vis-a-vis the vertical depends on the type of design. With an appropriate inclination, it can be assumed that the lateral forces acting thereon do not produce an elastic deformation of the said area.
This said area can be designed in various ways. Thus, according to a first embodiment, the area adjoining the track is essentially straight, yet inclined vis-a-vis the vertical. However, it is also feasible that the area of the profiled rail adjoining the track is bent once or several times in the same or in opposite directions. The bend can thereby be such that the webs aligned to one another extend in direction of the vertical. The said area could, however, also be formed in a saw-toothed, curved or like manner.
In one broad aspect, there is provided a drawer pull-out guide with a guide rail designed for mounting on a furniture body and a slide rail designed for mounting on a drawer and guided by means of rolling bodies, and with a profiled rail having tracks for the rolling bodies and one or both end sections, wherein the section of the profiled rail which adjoins the tracks is offset against vertical, so that the section lies in a direction or approximately in a direction of resulting transverse forces acting on the drawer pull-out guide, wherein three tracks of the profiled rail which are assigned to a slide rail are produced by multiple offsetting while forming a groove into which an end web of the profiled rail produced by bending is inserted.
The invention shall be described in greater detail with reference to the attached drawings, showing:
Figure 1 a drawer pull-out guide according to the invention in the form of a single pull-out, Figure 2 a drawer pull-out guide according to the invention in the form of a complete pull-out.
- 3a -The drawer pull-out guide 10 shown in Figures 1 and 2 has a guide rail 11 which is angular in shape and fastened to a side wall 12 of a piece of furniture (not otherwise shown).
In the embodiment of Figure 1, the profiled rail 13 forms a one-piece rail with the guide rail 11.
In the embodiment of Figure 2, this one-piece rail is formed from the guide rail 11 and a stationary slide rail 14. A
slide rail 15 which is almost the same in cross-section is fastened to the drawer 16 (shown in outline). Thus, in the embodiment of Figure 1, slide rail 14 is missing. The profiled rail 13 is provided with three tracks in the embodiment of Figure 1. In the embodiment of Figure 2, both ends are formed in the same way, so that three tracks are again produced in each case. Several rolling elements 17 in the form of balls arranged in succession are allocated to each track of the profiled rail 13. In particular, Figure 2 shows that the area of the profiled rail 13 situated between the tracks on the end extends diagonally to the vertical. This is also true for the embodiment of Figure 1, however, the angle of the area formed adjacent to the tracks or lying between the tracks is made such that it extends in direction of the resultant forces produced by the lateral forces that act on the drawer pull-out guide 10. This said area does not have to extend in a straight line or in a curved manner, but can also be bent, preferably repeatedly bent.
A profiling, for example, a zigzag-like arrangement would also be feasible, so that, depending on the formation of this area, certain parts are staggered vis-a-vis the vertical or are diagonal thereto. Remaining parts could thereby also extend in direction of the vertical.
In the embodiments shown, three tracks allocated to a slide rail 14 and 15 are produced by repeated bending. A groove 18 is formed thereby into which an end web 19 is inserted by bending.
The invention is not restricted to the embodiments shown. The area adjoining the tracks or lying between the tracks, which deviates from the vertical and which can be formed in various ways, is essential, so that the elasticity caused by the lateral forces is reduced.
