Abstract
A method that allows a plurality of objects displayed within a video session on an Interactive Multimedia Platform (IMP) display to be user selected and processed in either on-line or delayed mode. This method is accomplished by encoding the position ofat least one object on the display, for the duration of an Encoded Video Session (EVS), and assigning to the object(s), an Internet Access Information (IAI) hyperlink, and caption data. The combination of encoded X and Y
coordinates, user control interface and a processor incorporated into the IMP
video display system will make an object selectable and thereby allow pre-assigned information to be accessed via the IAI hyperlink to an Electronic Product Warehouse Database (EPWD). The processor incorporated into the IMP system is capable of alternate television / Internet video display; icon command processing; Internet communication; split screen display and IAI
hyperlink storage for the purpose of delayed processing.
coordinates, user control interface and a processor incorporated into the IMP
video display system will make an object selectable and thereby allow pre-assigned information to be accessed via the IAI hyperlink to an Electronic Product Warehouse Database (EPWD). The processor incorporated into the IMP system is capable of alternate television / Internet video display; icon command processing; Internet communication; split screen display and IAI
hyperlink storage for the purpose of delayed processing.

1. A method that allows a plurality of objects representing products, services, information, and the like; displayed within a video session on an Interactive Multimedia Platform (IMP) display to be user selected and processed in either on-line or delayed mode.
2. The method of claim 1 in which a system of encoding Video Object Information (VOI) into a video session creates an Encoded Video Session (EVS) which allows for each of a plurality of objects to reference:
(a) the object's X and Y coordinates for the duration of the session, which will allow the object's location on the display to be identifiable at any time during the session.
(b) an IAI which may contain the following:
(i) product identification code;
(ii) a hyperlink to the objects pre-assigned Electronic Product Warehouse Database (EPWD); and (iii) product caption data associated with the object.
(a) the object's X and Y coordinates for the duration of the session, which will allow the object's location on the display to be identifiable at any time during the session.
(b) an IAI which may contain the following:
(i) product identification code;
(ii) a hyperlink to the objects pre-assigned Electronic Product Warehouse Database (EPWD); and (iii) product caption data associated with the object.
3. A method in accordance with claim 2 whereby the EVS is broadcast or otherwise delivered to a smart television, computer and/or Internet display, comprising:
(a) a method for displaying television and / or Internet communication objects;
(b) a method for receiving user input;
(c) means for alternative television / Internet tuning;
(d) a method of displaying command icons and video data supplied by an alternative graphic video generator;
(e) an ability to perform split screen window display; and (fJ an integrated processor.
(a) a method for displaying television and / or Internet communication objects;
(b) a method for receiving user input;
(c) means for alternative television / Internet tuning;
(d) a method of displaying command icons and video data supplied by an alternative graphic video generator;
(e) an ability to perform split screen window display; and (fJ an integrated processor.
4. A device as in claim 3 being a processor integrated with the smart televison, computer and / or Internet display which is capable of:
(a) storing and processing video object information from the EVS;
(b) halting the display image upon receiving a user input command while displaying those object(s) that are selectable in a hi-lighted manner;
(c) determining whether an object(s) has been selected from the display by means of a comparison of the user input, and the position attributed to the object(s) as derived from the object(s) VOI;
(d) retrieving the IAI and caption data associated with the selected object;
(e) formatting alternate video graphic data for display as in claim 1 and claim 2;
(f) causing a set of Command Icons (CI) to be displayed on the IMP;
(g) interpreting direct user input;
(h) communicating with an Internet provider via an Internet communication module, which will allow Internet video display and Internet command processing; and (i) executing the IAI whereby the user is delivered directly to the EPWD.
(a) storing and processing video object information from the EVS;
(b) halting the display image upon receiving a user input command while displaying those object(s) that are selectable in a hi-lighted manner;
(c) determining whether an object(s) has been selected from the display by means of a comparison of the user input, and the position attributed to the object(s) as derived from the object(s) VOI;
(d) retrieving the IAI and caption data associated with the selected object;
