Abstract

The present invention relates to a process and apparatus for biological treatment of liquid waste by an upflow aerobic biofilter and coating of the solid fraction by powder zeolite. The aerobic biofilter comprises a reactor filled with perforated media. The media prevent clogging by suspended material in the manure but allow accumulation of biomass within the reactor and high oxygen transfer.
