Abstract

Cette invention concerne un module de protection contre les surtensions qui possède un réseau de varistors à oxyde métallique, ainsi que d'autres composants. Ce module possède un revêtement isolant (16) permettant d'exercer une force de compression axiale sur le réseau empilé. Lorsqu'elle est maintenue en situation de compression axiale, la pile de composants (20) va recevoir un boîtier isolant comprenant une résine thermodurcissable qui, une fois solidifiée, possède un coefficient de dilatation thermique supérieur à celui des composants de la pile. La pile ainsi enduite est ensuite solidifiée à une température supérieure à celle que les composants du module de protection pourront avoir à supporter. Lors du refroidissement, les composants du réseau sont maintenus en compression tandis que le boîtier permet de maintenir un contact électrique adéquat avec chacun d'entre eux. Des brins de fibre de verre (24, 28) sont intégrés aux boîtier de manière à renforcer le module et à obtenir une plus grande résistance en porte-à-faux. Cette invention concerne également un procédé de fabrication de ce module.
